Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuation in air pressure of a front space part in a moving direction. SOLUTION: A blade part 53, which is molded in an approximate plate shape by using an elastic material and which tip part is moved in a slide-rubbed state by being kept in a pressure contact state throughout the width-direction area of an almost flat head surface 32a, so as to remove adhering foreign matter, is formed in this cleaning blade 50. At least one air vent part 54 piercing in the moving direction is formed in the blade part 53, and air in the front space part in the moving direction is made to flow out to a rear space part, so that the fluctuation of the air pressure can be suppressed. SOLUTION: This liquid residue detection device comprises an ink tank 1 containing a conductive ink 6, and an ink detection circuit 5 for detecting the quantity of the ink 6 stored in the ink tank 1. A rubber plate 15 to be connected with an electrode device 4 connected to the ink detection circuit 5 is arranged on the circumferential wall part of the ink tank 1. The ink detection circuit 5 has the electrode means 4 having a plurality of electrode needles 17 capable of making contact with the internal ink 6 through the rubber member 15 arranged on the ink tank 1 as a detecting member. The residual quantity of the ink 6 in the ink tank 1 can be detected based on the current-carrying state between predetermined electrode needles 17 in the application of a voltage to the electrode needles 17 of the electrode means 4. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a liquid storage amount large and a structure simple and to stably hold a liquid without a liquid leak. SOLUTION: There are provided an ink storage section 30, an ink chamber 40, a valve 50 arranged so as to move an opening/closing member 52 to release an opening region 51 by a pressure decrease due to a reduction of an ink amount of the ink chamber 40, an outside air communication hole 32a communicating with the outside air, and an air introduction pipe 32 capable of taking the air corresponding to the reduced ink amount into the ink storage section 30 from the outside air communication hole 32a when an ink amount in the ink storage section 30 reduces. A hole diameter of a lower end 32c of the air introduction pipe 32 and a head corresponding to a height from a lower face (nozzle face) of an ink discharge section 100 to the lower end 32c of the air introduction pipe 32 are determined to satisfy P>H, wherein P is a force for holding an ink meniscus at the lower end 32c of the air introduction pipe 32 and H is a pressure of the head. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of ink surely even when the atmospheric pressure is reduced while ensuring a sufficient ink containing quantity. SOLUTION: The ink supply unit comprises an ink containing section 30, an ink chamber 40 coupled with the ink containing section 30, and a valve 50 arranged to move such that an opening/closing member 52 opens an opening area 51 as the pressure in the ink chamber 40 lowers due to decrease in the quantity of ink in the ink chamber 40. The ink containing section 30 comprises an outer air communication hole 32a, and an air introduction pipe 32 extending from the outer air communication hole 32a into the ink containing section 30 and taking air corresponding, in volume, to the quantity of ink decreased in the ink containing section 30 from the hole 32a into the ink containing section 30 when the quantity of ink in the ink containing section 30 decreased and capable of storing ink internally. Assuming the inner volume of the ink containing section 30 is V 0 and the inner volume of the air introduction pipe 32 is V 1 , following relation is satisfied; 0 1 /V 0 ≤0.5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which shows high reliability and excellent operability, especially improved operability with regard to attachment and detachment of an optional device, and provides and operator with convenience in use. SOLUTION: A printing device 1 is equipped with a front panel on which a paper feed tray attaching/detaching aperture for attaching a paper feed tray 40 to and detaching it from a printing device body, a paper unloading aperture 22 for unloading a printed paper and an optional device attaching/detaching aperture 24 for attaching an optional device 80 to and detaching it from the body, are perforated and has an almost planar main face, constituting one face of an outer enclosure. The optional device attaching/detaching aperture 24 is an upper region of the paper unloading aperture 22 to the front panel 20 and perforated in a region other than a region for a paper of a smallest size to be unloaded. The optional device 80 is attached to and detached from the body through the optional device attaching/detaching aperture 24 as viewed facing an opened paper unloading door 50.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink containing bag which can store a large quantity of ink through a simple structure while enhancing reliability of ink supply to a print head, a printer and an ink supply method. SOLUTION: In a printer for printing on a recording medium by jetting ink from a print head toward the recording medium, ink is supplied to a print head 52 using an ink containing bag 60 having valve function for feeding ink in a filling part 60A to the outside only when an external pressure is applied thereto. According to the arrangement, an ink containing bag 60 which can storage a large quantity of ink through a simple structure while enhancing reliability of ink supply to the print head 52 can be realized along with a printer and an ink supply method.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of drive means and to reduce the load of a control circuit by performing the driving of a paper feed means feeding recording paper to a platen roller and the movement of the push-up arm brought into contact with said means under pressure by one drive means. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 52 moves from a retracted position to an advance position and a moving shaft 161 is locked by shaft lock levers 180,180. Subsequently, an arm control slider is moved to a retracted position to upwardly revolve a push-up arm 55 and a printing paper bundle 8 is brought into contact with a paper feed belt 54 under pressure. Next, the paper feed belt 54 is allowed to run in a forward direction to feed printing paper 3 and the leading end of the printing paper 3 is inserted in the paper inserting port 145 of a platen roller 51 and the platen roller 51 is slightly reversed to fix the leading end part of the printing paper 3 by a chuck bar 144 and drive gears 170,171,172 are further forwardly rotated to return the arm control slider to the advance position and the push-up arm 55 is returned to a non-push-up position. Since the head moving means and the pushing-up means are driven by one drive means, the number of motors is reduced by half and the load of a control circuit is reduced.
