Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize high density recording. CONSTITUTION:A laser source outputs high-power coherent laser light at the time of recording. An optical pickup 30 irradiates an optomagnetic disk D with laser light from the laser source. A magnetic modulation head 6 is driven by the use of magnetic modulation head driving circuit 33 in accordance with the recorded data processed by a VFM(Variable Five Modulation) encoder 34. The VFM encoder 34 applies VFM processing to the information signals fed from an input terminal 29. For this reason, the modulated magnetic field corresponding to VFM record data is recorded on the optomagnetic disk D.
