Abstract: PURPOSE: To lower the cost and simplify the workability and thereby enhance reliability by reducing a transparent conductive film deposition area.
CONSTITUTION: A bulb body 1 of cathode ray tube has such a structure that the first and second panels 2, 3 and the funnel part 4 to which the neck bulb 5 accommodating electron gun 6 is welded are joined together. An insulator which is a material for forming the panel 3, for example, the surface of glass is exposed directly and is arranged to face the phosphor surface 8. Moreover, the area receiving impact of collision of electron beam b from the electron gun 6, namely the entire area corresponding to the scanning region of electron beam or at least a part of surface layer is formed by a material having comparatively high secondary electron emission ratio. Thereby, upon starting of operation of cathode ray tube, the emitted secondary electron runs to the internal surface of second panel 3 facing thereto and is cumulated thereon. Since the secondary electron has a high voltage, the inside of bulb can be stably held at a constant high voltage within a short period of time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a black and white picture with no color separation by forming a black and white phosphor using such phosphor in which the fine particles of a red phosphor contained in rare earth elements is applied on the surface of the particles of a phosphor of cyanic color that does not contain cadmium. CONSTITUTION:The phosphor particle ZnS : Cu, Ag, Al or ZnS:Au, Ag, Al particle of a single component series with cyanic color having an average particle diameter of 6 to 15mum and desirably of 9 to 10mum is obtained at a point C. On the other hand, the rare earth elements red phosphor Y2O2S:Eu, Y2O3:Eu or YVO4:Eu at a point R is pulverized into a particle whose average particle diameter is below 40% of the paricle diameter of a phosphor with cyanic color, using ball mills. Besides, the fine particle of the rare earth elements red phosphor is uniformly applied on the phosphor particle with cyanic color. Then a black and white phosphor screen is formed using this phosphor. As a result, a black and white picture with no color separation can be obtained even in a compact screen.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reliably perform address detection by selecting the spacific red phosphor to the Eu density indicating a specific (x) value in the x-y chromaticity diagram of emission and arranging a filter cutting the light with a specific wavelength at the light receiving section. CONSTITUTION:The red phosphor of a color fluorescent screen is made of Y2O2S:Eu, and the Eu is selected to the density indicating an (x) value of 0.618- 0.641 in the x-y chromaticity diagram of emission of this red phosphor. The emission of the bright line spectrum of 6,265Angstrom having the persistence characteristic shown by Curve 1 is mainly used for visible images, and the emission of the bright line spectrum of D1 F1 having the short-persistence characteristic shown by Curve 2 is mainly used for the address detection via write-pen pickup by utilizing the difference in persistence characteristic. Accordingly, a filter cutting the emission of the bright line spectrum having the long-persistence characteristic, i.e., cutting the long wavelength of 5,800Angstrom or more, is arranged at the light receiving section via write-pen pickup receiving the address detection light.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate a flicker of an image and ensure the write pen pick-up by forming a phosphor screen with visible phosphors having a specific afterglow and a detecting phosphor outside the visible region and mixing the detecting phosphor with the visible phosphors or coating the light absorbing area of the phosphor screen with it. CONSTITUTION:The phosphor screen of a CRT panel is formed with phosphors emitting visible rays of various colors, e.g., red, green, and blue, having an afterglow of 1msec or more until the intensity is decreased to 1/10 and a phosphor emitting detecting rays outside the visible region and having the said afterglow of 10musec or less. The phosphor emitting detecting rays is mixed with the phosphor pattern of various colors emitting visible rays, or the light absorbing area of the phosphor screen is coated with it. Accordingly, a regenerated image with no flicker and with high precision can be obtained and the write pen pick-up can be performed with high sensitivity and reliably.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high brightness fluorescent screen the color of which is easy to distinguish with human eyes by using a fluorescent material which satisfies specific conditions as at least a blue fluorescent material and red fluorescent material. CONSTITUTION:x Value of 0.10-0.20, and y value of 0.09-0.25 are selected for blue chromaticity on the CIE chromaticity diagram and x value of 0.50-0.60, and y value of 0.35-0.45 are selected for red chromaticity of the color fluorescent screen. The fluorescent material which satisfies these conditions is used as red and blue fluorescent materials.
