Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire used for signal transmission in an electronic apparatus and for data communication, having a highly foamed insulation layer. and having excellent side-pressure resisting performance, and to provide a coaxial structure of the insulated wire excellent in flexibility, reduced in noises produced by bending, etc., and facilitating terminal work. SOLUTION: In this foam-insulated wire, a resin-composition foam layer with a base polymer including a poly-(4-methyl-1-pentene) is provided on a conductor. To make the foam insulated wire into a coaxial structure, a ribbon- shaped conductor into which a round wire of copper or copper alloy is flattened by rolling is used as an outer conductor 3, and the ribbon-shaped conductor is helically wound on an insulator 2 to form the outer conductor.

The inside surface of the light storage layer is provided with the light reflective layer 3, by which the light heading toward the inside surface from the light storage layer may be reflected and the intensity of the light reflecting to the outer side may be enhanced. The light reflective layer 3 to be formed on the inside surface of the heat shrink tube 1 having the light storability may be formed by sticking metallic foil of aluminum, etc., to the inside surface of the tube or melt extruding the thermoplastic resin compsn. contg. the pigments of bright colors to the inside surface of the tube, etc. The thermoplastic resin is preferably a copolymer, of polyethylene, ethylene system, etc.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and polyolefin insulated electric wire suitable for high speed data communication and having high adhesion strength between a conductor and insulating layer, good appearance, and low dielectric constant without unevenness, and highly foamed insulating layer. SOLUTION: This electric wire is a foamed polyolefin-insulated electric wire satisfying following three conditions: a conductor diameter of 0.4 mm ϕ or smaller and an insulating coating thickness of 0.8 mm or thinner, an equivalent dielectric constant =100 g/50 mm. A polyolefin containing 10 wt.% of more of ionomer is used for the electric wire. Manufacture of the electric wire includes process of forming a foamed layer on a conductor by foaming-extrusion at swelling ratio >=55% and foaming degree of the polyolefin >=50% by using a chemical foaming agent and/or an inert gas foaming agent.
