Abstract: A LUBRICATING COATING COMPOSITION IN WHICH AT LEAST ONE BASIC LUBRICANT SELECTED FROM A BASIC SULFONATE, A BASIC SALICYLATE, AND A BASIC PHENATE IS DISSOLVED IN A VOLATILE SOLVENT IS APPLIED TO THE FRICTIONAL SURFACE OF A BOX (1A) AND A PIN (2A) CONSTITUTING A THREADED JOINT FOR OIL WELL PIPES. THE COMPOSITION MAY FURTHER CONTAIN ONE OR MORE OF A THERMOPLASTIC RESIN POWDER, ANOTHER LUBRICANT, AND AN EXTREME PRESSURE AGENT. THE SURFACE ROUGHNESS OF THE FRICTIONAL SURFACES (12) PREFERABLY HAS AN RMAX IN THE RANGE OF 5-40 MICROMETERS.

Abstract: Invenţia se referă la o compoziţie de acoperire lubrifiantă, pentru ungerea unei îmbinări cu filet, şi la o metodă de ungere a unei îmbinări cu filet, care foloseşte această compoziţie. Compoziţia conform invenţiei este constituită, în procente în greutate, din: (A) 25...80% un solvent organic volatil şi (B) 75...20% cel puţin un component nevolatil, în care 100 de părţi în greutate, din componentul (B) nevolatil, constă, în principal, din 10...100 părţi în greutatedin cel puţin un lubrifiant ales dintre un sulfonat bazic, un salicilat bazic şi un fenat bazic, care este dizolvat, cel puţin parţial, în solventul (A), până la 30 părţi în greutate dintr-o răşină termoplastică, până la 90 părţi în greutate dintr-un lubrifiant, altul decât lubrifiantul bazic, şi până la 15 părţi în greutate dintr-un agent de presiune extremă.

Abstract: A threaded joint for an oil well pipe, characterized as having a screw part and/or a metal-metal contacting part with no screws which have, formed thereon, 1) a lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer having a skeleton of M (metal atom)-O (oxygen) and containing a solid lubricating agent dispersed and incorporated therein, 2) a phosphate coating and the above lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer, 3) a Cu plating layer, and the above lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer or a lubricating coating of a resin containing a solid lubricating agent dispersed and incorporated therei n, or 4) the above lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer or the above lubricating coating of a resin, and a rust-inhibiting coating containing an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of a carboxylic acid. The threaded joint for an oil well pipe can prevent the occurrence of galling in repeated make-up and break-out operations and at the same time secure high oil- tightness, with no use of a liquid lubricating agent such as a compounded grease.

Abstract: Composicion de recubrimiento lubricante en la cual al menos un lubricante básico seleccionado entre un sulfonato básico, un salicilato básico y un fenato básico es disuelto en un solvente base volátil, siendo aplicada a la superficie friccionante de una caja y un enchufe que constituyen una union roscada para un tubo para pozo petrolífero. La composicion puede contener además una o más resinas termoplásticas en polvo, otro lubricante, y un agente de extrema presion. La rugosidad superficial de las superficies friccionantes tiene preferiblemente un Rmax comprendido entre 5 y 40 micrometros.

Abstract: A method for improving the resistance to surface roughening of tungsten-containing metallic articles such as cutting tools and hot mill rolls made of a cemented carbide or high-speed steel and extending the lifetime thereof. The method comprises treating a metallic article with an aqueous alkaline solution containing calcium ions and optionally tungstate ions having a pH greater than 8 so as to form a coating of calcium tungstate on the surface of the metallic article. In hot rolling with tungsten-containing rolls, the aqueous solution can be used as at least part of a cooling water to cool the rolls, thereby extending the period before roll replacement becomes necessary due to surface roughening and decreasing the frequency of roll dressing required during hot rolling.
