Abstract:
A method of updating software of terminals in a mobile broadcast system is provided. The method includes creating an update command for terminals of a particular model, the update command including update information; and broadcasting the created update command. The update information includes software version information and at least one of terminal manufacturer information and terminal model information. Further, the method may further include, before broadcasting the created update command, forcibly requiring terminals subscribe to an update service; and creating and broadcasting an update file for terminals of the particular model from among the forcibly subscribed terminals. The software of the terminals may be firmware.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving LASeR contents are provided, in which content including at least one of a scene element and a scene element set that includes the scene element is received, for use in scene composition, and a scene is composed by selecting at least one of the at least one of the scene element and the scene element set included in the content according to at least one of a terminal type, a user preference, and a content-serviced party.
Abstract:
A method for delivering/receiving content in a mobile communication system. A terminal sends a Content Delivery Repair Request message requiring repair of the content to a server, when reception of the content provided from the server is not normally carried out; and receives a Content Delivery Repair Response message from the server in response to the Content Delivery Repair Request message. The server receives a Content Delivery Repair Request message from the terminal, when reception of the content is not normally carried out at the terminal, and sends a Content Delivery Repair Response message in response to the Content Delivery Repair Request message.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving mobility information to support the handover and roaming in a digital broadcasting system. The transmission method includes the steps of setting mobility information including information elements for indicating at least one handover/roaming type according to whether or not support of an interactive network is available for handover/roaming; inserting the mobility information into at least one of an ESG regarding broadcasting services, a notification message, and an independent signaling message so that the mobility information is transmitted to at least one terminal; and conducting handover or roaming of the terminal according to the mobility information.
Abstract:
A system for reporting a reception ratio of a broadcast service in a broadcasting system. A network entity sends a reception ratio report indication message indicating at least one measurement type of a reception ratio for a broadcast streaming service. A terminal receives the reception ratio report indication message, and sends a reception ratio report message including the reception ratio indicative of a ratio of an expectedTotalPackets indicating a total number of packets that the terminal expects to receive for a reception ratio measurement interval according to a measurement type indicated by the reception ratio report indication message, to a receivedTotalPackets indicating a total number of packets that the terminal has received for the reception ratio measurement interval.
Abstract:
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Provided is a method and apparatus for estimating a signal quality bitmap for cells. Maps for a popular frequency are assumed as a benchmark bitmap and maps for other frequencies are constructed based on the benchmark bitmap, thereby remarkably reducing cost imposed by map generation and broadcasting.
Abstract:
A method for providing service continuity in a home network of a digital broadcasting system. The home network acquires, from a neighboring network, service information for broadcast services provided in the neighboring network. The home network compares the service information acquired from the neighboring network with currently provided service information, and generates service mapping information indicating at least one second broadcast service being similar or identical to a first broadcast service currently provided to a terminal, among broadcast services provided in the neighboring network. The home network transmits the generated service mapping information to the terminal so that the terminal can continuously receive the broadcast service after roaming to the neighboring network.
Abstract:
A method and system is provided for sharing a service guide or a service guide fragment in a mobile broadcast system supporting a mobile broadcast service. A Broadcast Service Provisioning Client Function (BSP-C) sends a request for the service guide or service guide fragment to a Broadcast Service Provisioning Management Function (BSP-M). The BSP-M transmits the service guide or service guide fragment to the BSP-C if the BSP-M has the service guide or service guide fragment.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for transmitting a notification message in a mobile broadcast system that includes transmitting common notification message channel information necessary for receiving a common notification message for all users capable of receiving broadcast services, along with an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) for the broadcast services or a control signal for the broadcast services; transmitting specific notification message channel information necessary for receiving a specific notification message for a specific user group to a terminal in the specific user group along with the ESG; generating at least one of the common notification message and the specific notification message; and transmitting the generated notification message to the terminal using the corresponding channel information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for handling an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) transmission error in a digital video broadcasting system, including a Service Application (SA) entity for receiving a file repair request message from a terminal after broadcasting an ESG from a Service Management (SM) entity to the terminal and, when the file repair request message is a request for the ESG, providing the SM entity with the file repair request message and an address of the terminal; a logical ESG aggregator for generating the ESG within the SM entity interpreting the request message and determining whether to retransmit the ESG to the terminal, and when determining to retransmit the ESG, the logical ESG aggregator delivering, ESG metadata and the address of the terminal to an interactive server for transmitting the ESG within the SM entity. The interactive server transmits the ESG metadata to the terminal.
