Abstract: A brush for delivering a glutinous substance to a workpiece from an end-effector is disclosed. The brush comprises a body having a rotational axis. The body comprises a first end, a second end, opposite the first end, and a channel, comprising an axial inlet and an outlet. The axial inlet is at the first end of the body and is coaxial with the rotational axis. The brush also comprises bristles, extending from the body so that the bristles are not parallel to the rotational axis of the body.

Abstract: An apparatus (100) for dispensing a brushable substance (102) comprises a bracket (104) and a sleeve (110), comprising an inner tubular sleeve wall (114) and an outer tubular sleeve wall (112). The sleeve (110) is coupled to the bracket (104) and is rotatable relative to the bracket (104). The apparatus (100) also comprises a cartridge (124), comprising an inner tubular cartridge wall (126) and an outer tubular cartridge wall (128). The apparatus (100) additionally comprises a valve (140), configured to be communicatively coupled with the cartridge (124), a brush-arm assembly (152), coupled to the sleeve (110), a linear actuator (138) to control flow of the brushable substance (102) from the valve (140), an annular plunger (148), positioned between the inner tubular cartridge wall (126) and the outer tubular cartridge wall (128), and a twist-lock pressure cap (150), configured to be hermetically coupled with the cartridge (124). The cartridge (124) is configured to be positioned between the inner tubular sleeve wall (114) and the outer tubular sleeve wall (112) and between the twist-lock pressure cap (150) and the valve (140).

Abstract: An apparatus for delivering a glutinous substance from a cartridge to a brush is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a sleeve and a pressure-cap assembly. The pressure-cap assembly comprises a pressure cap, proximate an inlet of the sleeve. The pressure cap comprises a pressure input, selectively operable to apply pressure to the glutinous substance in the cartridge when the cartridge is received within the sleeve, the pressure cap is in the closed position, and a leading end of the cartridge is in sealed engagement with a valve. The apparatus further comprises a brush-arm assembly, configured to retain the brush and capable of rotating the brush. The valve is selectively operable to enable the glutinous substance to flow from the cartridge to the brush.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning surfaces of an object. A platform may be moved along a path relative to the object using a robotic device. A liquid may be applied onto the plurality of surfaces of the object using an applicator associated with the platform. The liquid may be worked into the plurality of surfaces using a plurality of cleaning elements associated with the platform to dislodge undesired material from the plurality of surfaces. A plurality of flexible members may be moved along the plurality of surfaces to dry the plurality of surfaces and remove the undesired material from the plurality of surfaces. An airflow may be generated that moves the undesired material into a vacuum duct in a vacuum system.

Abstract: A robot end effector (100) for dispensing an extrudable substance (102) comprises a chassis (110), a static mixer (101), and cartridge bays (122), extending from the chassis (110). Fluidic communication between the selected one of the two-part cartridges (104) and the static mixer (101) is established when the cartridge bays (122) are moved to a predetermined position with respect to the chassis (110). The robot end effector (100) comprises a dispensing valve (130), attached to the chassis (110), and a head assembly (150), comprising pairs of fittings (152). Each of the pairs of fittings (152) is configured to selectively supply compressed air from a pressure source (199) to contents of a corresponding one of the two-part cartridges (104).
