Abstract: A process for the catalytic conversion of various chlorinated alkane byproducts and waste products especially to reaction products including a useful or salable less chlorinated alkene, in which a chlorinated alkane feedstock is reacted with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst including a Group VIII metal such as platinum in elemental or compound form, and a Group IB metal such as copper in elemental or compound form.
