Abstract: A scaffold to form tissue membranes, comprising: at least one layer of mesh having a first side and a second side, the layer of mesh being either a woven wire metal mesh or a flat metal sheet that is acid-etched such that the layer of mesh includes a network of holes passing directly through the mesh from the first side to the second side; and at least one layer of cells at each side of the mesh enclosing the layer of mesh, such that the at least one layer of cells on the first side interacts with the at least one layer of cells on the second side through the network of holes to provide for structure integration.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems that are related to facilitating an automated, fast and accurate model for cardiac image segmentation, particularly for image data of children with complex congenital heart disease are disclosed. In one example aspect, a generative adversarial network is disclosed. The generative adversarial network includes a generator configured to generate synthetic imaging samples associated with a cardiovascular system, and a discriminator configured to receive the synthetic imaging samples from the generator and determine probabilities indicating likelihood of the synthetic imaging samples corresponding to real cardiovascular imaging sample. The discriminator is further configured to provide the probabilities determined by the discriminator to the generator and the discriminator to allow the parameters of the generator and the parameters of the discriminator to be adjusted iteratively until an equilibrium between the generator and the discriminator is established.

Abstract: Described is a collapsible atrial cage for percutaneous delivery and implantation of an atrioventricular valve within an atrium of the heart. The atrial cage includes an atrial portion and a ventricular portion. The ventricular portion is attached with and separated from the atrial portion by a valve juncture portion. Notably, the cage includes at least one interlock shaped to lock with and secure an atrioventricular valve proximate the valve juncture portion. Thus, when deployed and expanded, the atrioventricular valve is secured at the atrioventricular juncture.

Abstract: Described is a delivery system for percutaneous delivery and implantation of a heart valve. The delivery system includes a handle with a sheath extending therefrom. A splay shaft extends from the handle through the sheath. At least two arms extend from the handle through the splay shaft. The at least two arms are operable for holding a heart valve. A sheath controller is housed within the handle and is operable for selectively advancing or retracting the sheath to constrain or expose a heart valve as attached with the at least two arms. A splay shaft controller is housed within the handle for allowing the user to selectively advance or retract the splay shaft to constrain or expose the at least two arms. Finally, a valve release is attached with the handle to allow a user to selectively release a heart valve as attached with the at least two arms.

Abstract: A method for generating fluid flow images of a region of interest is disclosed. The method includes: scanning the region of interest to acquire a set of 4D-Flow magnetic resonance images, wherein the set comprises an anatomical magnitude image, a first velocity component image, a second velocity component image, and a third velocity component image; isolating the anatomical magnitude image, the first velocity component image, the second velocity component image, and the third velocity component image from the set of 4D-Flow magnetic resonance images; converting the first, second, and third velocity component images into a velocity vector field; modeling a location of an anatomical wall within the region of interest; calculating at least one flow dynamics parameter for the region of interest; and generating a visual representation of the anatomical wall and the at least one flow dynamics parameter.

Abstract: Described is a transcatheter mitral valve. The mitral valve includes a saddle-shaped annulus frame with two prongs extending therefrom. Two leaflets are attached with the frame and prongs to form a bi-leaflet mitral valve. The frame is collapsible to a collapsed configuration that allows for delivery and implantation at a mitral position. When at the mitral position, the mitral valve expands into an open configuration and is secured in place by a fixture, such as clamps that extend from the frame.
