    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality polyester film which has a high running ability at the surface, wear resistance and productivity, simplifies the process and lowers the cost, and a preparation process of such film. SOLUTION: In a preparation process of a polyester film, at least one side of the film is irradiated with ultraviolet light to form fine projections on the surface. A polyester film has a ratio Rz/Ra of the center line average roughness Ra and the ten point average roughness Rz of the surface of at least one side of the film of smaller than 20, and the concentration of carboxyl groups at the surface part which forms the surface is larger than the concentration of carboxyl groups at the central layer of the film.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease fish eyes and die streaks occurring during long-time continuous film production to reduce film breaking and thereby to stably produce a high-quality film by compounding a mixture of a non-liq.-crystalline polyester and a copolyester with an acetic acid generation inhibitor. SOLUTION: This compsn. is produced by compounding 100 pts.wt. polyester comprising 99.9-60 wt.% non-liq.-crystalline polyester (A) and 0.1-40 wt.% copolyester (B) having mesogenic groups in the main chain with (C) 0.001-0.5 pts.wt. acetic acid generation inhibitor. Pref., ingredient C mainly comprises amorphous silica and has an average micropore size of 100-250 Å and an average particle size of 0.05-5 μm. The amt. of acetic acid generated of this polyester film is pref. 250 ppm or lower in terms of film quality. Pref., ingredient B is a copolyester comprising four kinds of structural units of formulas I, II, III, and IV (e.g., R1 is a group of formula V; and R2 is a group of formula VI).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce the melt viscosity of a film at its extrusion and remarkably lower its heat generated by shearing and its extrusion torque irrespective of the level of its intrinsic viscosity by a method wherein the film is produced by dispersing a copolyester, in the main chain of which mesogenic groups are included, in a non-liquid crystalline polyester. SOLUTION: Polyester stock prepared by dispersing a copolyester, in the main chain of which mesogenic groups are included, in a non-liquid crystalline polyester is charged in a melt extruder for film-making. The dispersing method of the copolyester is performed by mixing chips and then melt-extruding the mixture under nitrogen sealing with a vent type twin-screw knead extruder. The copolyester, in the main chain of which mesogenic groups (the structural unit of liquid crystallizability) are included, is a melt-moldable polymer and either liquid crystalline polyester or non-liquid crystalline polyester will do. Concretely, a polyester, which is composed of the structural unit selected from the group consisting of an aromatic oxycarbonyl unit, aromatic oxy unit, aromatic dicarbonyl unit and the like, or the like is exampled.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To attain high output due to void reduction as well as to ensure superior output characteristics and to reduce the thickness of a tape by regulating the strength of a film in the transverse direction and the number of voids in the film. CONSTITUTION: This polyester film is a film of polyethylene-2,6-naphthalene- dicarboxylate. The number of voids of 0.23 to , that of voids of 1 to and that of voids of >=3μm diameter is (60 per 1mm . The number average void diameter is 0.5-1.5μm and the Young's modulus of the film in the transverse direction is >=700kg/mm . Output characteristics deteriorate when the number of voids and the number average void diameter are not within the above- mentioned ranges.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermoplastic resin sheet which, in a static electricity applying cast method using tape electrodes, can remarkably increase the upper limit of a sheet molding speed which prevents the generation of the defect of electricity application nonuniformity in the sheet and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the sheet, when a molten thermoplastic resin is extruded from a nozzle into a sheet, and the sheet is made to adhere to a cooling drum by the static electricity applying cast method, cooled, and solidified for molding, an electrostatic charge is applied to the sheet by using the tape electrodes, and ionized air is sprayed to both end parts of the sheet. The apparatus for the method is provided.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of homogeneous mixing without classification or sticking and maintaining an effect such as suppressing shearing heat generation in mixing by including a non-liquid crystalline polyester and a specified copolyester. The composition mentioned above is preferably used in such a state that the component B is previously suspended in the component A and, in paticular, is preferably produced as master chips including the component B at high concentration.
