    Abstract: PURPOSE:To render the title medium suitable for facsimile, etc., and to lengthen its service life, by forming on a conductive substrate an abrasion resistant charge retentive layer made of an organic resin with glass beads mixed. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic recording medium fundamentally comprises insulating film base 1 made of an organic resin film, such as polyester or polycarbonate, and conductive electrode 2 of palladium, indium oxide, or the like. On this electrode 2 is formed abrasion resistant charge retentive layer 9 consisting of a mixed coating layer formed by dispersing into resin binder 4, such as epoxy resin or polyethylene, smooth and spherical glass beads 7 having a mean particle diameter of 1-50mum at a volume ratio of 10-95%. As a result, electrostatic recording head 11 comes in contact mainly with beads 7, but prevented from damage because of smooth spherical surfaces of head 11, and layer 9 also undergoes little mechanical damages.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A composite organic high polymer material having improved adhesiveness, heat, cold, and flex resistance and processability, comprising a metal coating layer subjected to plasma or metal deposition treatment in the presence of an active gas. CONSTITUTION:An organic high polymer base material comprising a metal coating layer subjected to plasma or metal deposition in the presence of an active gas, having a peel strength between the layer and the base material at an angle of 180 deg.>= 1.5 kg/cm, the coating layer being a metallic compound of purity >=99.5 wt.%. A nitrogen-containing organic high polymer, e.g. polyamide or polyimide, may be used as the base material. The active gas includes CO, CO2, NH3, or a gas capable of forming their radicals by glow discharge. The plasma treatment is carried out by treating the base material in a plasma produced with the glow discharge at 5X10 - 1X10 Torr.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a laminated structure having superior again stability by adhering glass to both sides of a resin film with a specified filmlike polyvinyl butyral adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A filmlike polyvinyl butyral adhesive whose equilibrium hygroscopic rate K at 20 deg.C and 90% relative humidity satisfies relation represented by the equation [where d is the thickness (mm.) of a film] is used. Inorg. or org. glass 1, 5 is adhered to both sides of a heat-ray reflecting resin film 3 with said adhesive 2, 4 to obtain a laminated structure. This structure has superior durability, and unlike a conventional structure, prevents creasing and discoloration at the edges for a long period.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the level differences on a surface to be formed with electrostatic images substantially by adhering both ends of a sheet-like electrostatic image recording body with a thermoplastic resin of >=0.5 optical density and making the level differences of the image forming surface at both ends of the recording body as a dry coating film is obtained. A material prepd. by dispersing 20pts. nigrosine as a coloring material uniformly in 100pts. polyacrylate resin is coated as an adhesive agent 3 on the end faces of such electrostatic image recording body whereby an endless electrostatic recording body is obtained. A xenon lamp is irradiated to the juncture of such recording body whereby the endless electrostatic image recording body connected by melting is obtained.
