Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of visibility for flatness of a panel glass, by securing strength of a vacuum enclosure by forming the inner surface of a panel comprising a flat outer surface and an inner surface having a center part protruded toward the outer surface into a curved surface satisfying a relation with the shape of a phosphor screen. SOLUTION: In this cathode ray tube, an almost rectangular phosphor screen 14 having a horizontal direction M, a vertical direction N and an aspect ratio of M:N is formed on the inner surface of a panel 12, and when amounts of drop from the center of the inner surface at those locations separated by a distance (r) from the center of the inner surface of the panel 12 on the horizontal axis, the vertical axis and the diagonal axis of the phosphor screen 14 are set for ΔH(r), ΔV(r), ΔD(r) respectively, the inner surface of the panel 12 is formed into a curved surface satisfying the formula I and the formula II. When the amount of sinking on the diagonal axis of the phosphor screen 14 of the panel 12 is the maximum amount of sinking ΔD(rMax), it is preferably within a range of 5-20 mm. Thereby, reduction of strength can be avoided by enhancing workability of a shadow mask.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube for displaying an image of good quality by preventing deformation of a shadow mask during operation of the color cathode-ray tube and setting or folding in pressing. SOLUTION: In a color cathode-ray tube comprising a substantially rectangular mask body 32 in which a portion 37 having no hole is disposed at the outer periphery of a substantially rectangular effective surface opposite to a phosphor screen and numerous electron beam passing holes 44 are formed at a substantially rectangular shadow mask and a skirt is bent at the outer peripheral portion by forming a bent portion 38 at the widthwise intermediate portion of the portion 37 having no hole, and a substantially rectangular mask frame fixed to the skirt portion, a band-like recess 43 is formed at the portion 37 having no hole in the mask body 32. In this way, during a long-term operation of the color cathode-ray tube, a stress generated in the mask body 32 by thermal expansion or a stress generated in pressing the mask body 32 can be inhibited by the band-like recess 43, thus preventing influence on the effective surface.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cathode-ray tube apparatus, of which sufficient atmospheric pressure-withstanding strength is retained and deflecting electric power is effectively decreased, even in the case a yoke part of the apparatus is made to be of non-circular shape. SOLUTION: In a cathode-ray tube apparatus, a narrow diameter region 22 from the joining part of a funnel 21 and a neck 23 to the end part of the deflecting coil in the phosphor screen side is set to be a yoke part. At least one cross-section shape vertical to the tubular axis is made to be non-circular, having a maximum outer diameter between the horizontal and vertical axes. The straight line passing the tubular axis at an angle θ with respect to the horizontal axis in the cross-section is formed to have an inner face shape having a part projected toward the tubular axial direction, and the projected part can be defined as a non-monotonous increasing or decreasing function, giving at least one relative maximum value of the distance from a point, where the inner face of the yoke part and the straight line cross to the horizontal and the vertical axes between the horizontal and the vertical axes.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the increase of coil resistance in the case of forming a flexible member with patterns of coil of a convergence correcting device. SOLUTION: A convergence correcting device 10 to be arranged in a neck part of a color picture tube is formed by wrapping a flexible member, which is formed with patterns of two pairs of four-pole magnetic field generating coil 21, 22 and two pairs of six-pole magnetic field generating coil 23, 24, into the cylindrical shape. In each coil pair 21, 22, 23, 24, four layers of the flexible member formed with pattern are laminated, and the patterns corresponding to each magnetic pole is connected to each other through a continuity part provided in each layer, and the number of turn per each layer can be thereby reduced. With this structure, line width of pattern is enlarged so as to reduce the coil resistance in comparison with the case of forming turns at the required number per each layer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the microconvergence that is symmetrical to a horizontal deflecting axis and reversely symmetrical to a vertical deflecting axis by connecting the 1st and 2nd auxiliary coils in series to a pair of horizontal deflecting coils and a pair of vertical deflecting coils respectively and connecting a 3rd load part to the 2nd auxiliary coil. CONSTITUTION:The impulsive inductive electromotive force is generated in a high frequency at a magnetic coupling part 32 of a conduction loop 30 by the magnetic flux of a 1st auxiliary coil 11. Thus an inductive current of an almost sawtooth shape flows to the loop 30. The load of a load part 33 is proportional to the magnetic permeability of a closed circuit magnetic core 34. However the load of the part 33 varies due to the change of magnetic permeability caused by the magnetic flux generated by auxiliary coil 21 that is wound round the core 34. Therefore the level of the induced current of a sawtooth shape flowing to a short circuit loop is larger at the upper and lower parts of a screen and smaller on a horizontal axis. Thus the misconvergence of a center beam is improved at the periphery of the screen. An auxiliary magnetic field is minimized on the horizontal axis since the load of the conduction loop is maximized. This load is reduced with increase of the vertical deflecting value and a pattern can be corrected.
