Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for optimizing the resources of an end user or a network in a network system including caching. SOLUTION: A caching system 10 attaches quality or a value characteristic provided by a recommender system 16 or the dynamic analysis of a site access to cache information in order to set up the priority of items in a cache 24. Priority is allocated to respective documents in the cache on the basis of the relative values of respective contents. Value data can be provided from the recommender system 16 for providing the value of each document on the basis of user's recommendation (using suggestive recommendation), the statistic analysis (suggestive recommendation) of a site access by an inherent user or the combination of these two procedures in order to specify a document having a high value.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recommend a preferable document to a user by clustering a second object by means of a result obtained by means of separating and searching a feature corresponding to the first plural objects in a collection. SOLUTION: The training set of users is identified from the collection of data (2510) and all types of information being usable concerning the users are collected. Then the users are clustered with multi-mode information in a selection related to multi-mode clustering (2512). In this case, unless the new user exists (2514), the processing is ended. Or when the new user is identified (2518), browsing information is collected from the new user (2520) and the user is assigned to the nearest existing cluster (2522). Then the most popular page in the nearest cluster is identified (2524) and it is recommended to the new user (2526).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to systematically display temporal variations of the structure and contents of a web site by generating and displaying a series of plane slices corresponding to a series of graphs. SOLUTION: A general computer 100 is equipped with at least a microprocessor 102, a display monitor 104, and a cursor controller 105. The general computer 100 may be equipped with a random access memory 107, a hard disk 103, a ROM memory 108, a keyboard 106, a modem 110, and a graphic coprocessor 109. An inventory of all unique nodes in a series of relative graphs is generated and unique layout positions in a plane template are assigned to respective unique nodes. Further, a series of plane slices corresponding to the series of relative graphs are generated by arranging the unique layout positions in the plane template at the lane slices corresponding to the respective graphs and displayed at the same time.
