Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and system of interference mitigation in wireless communication. In some demonstrative embodiments the method may include determining one or more factors to be applied to one or more likelihood ratio values of one or more current symbols received by a station over one or more communication subcarriers, respectively, based on one or more sets of estimated error values, respectively, wherein the set of error values corresponds to a plurality of previous symbols received over the subcarrier. In some demonstrative embodiments the method may include determining the likelihood ratio value based on a probability that the current symbol includes interference caused by one or more other stations transmitting over the subcarrier. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and system of decoding spatially multiplexed signals. In some demonstrative embodiments the method may include, for example, determining one or more hypothetical values of a transmitted signal of a set of transmitted signals based on one or more respective sets of hypothetical values assigned to a subset of the set of transmitted signals. Other embodiments are described and claimed;
Abstract:
Disclosed is an improved channel estimation by post-processing of the channel response that is generated by a Golay correlator The processing is done using time-domain operations such as gating and filtering. Gating is performed on the estimated channel response taps in order to reduce the noise level. Pre-filtering the channel response through a filter matched to the transmitted pulse-shape improves the probability of detecting the channel peaks. Post-filtering the processed channel impulse response to eliminate the high frequency effects that are added by the windowing and gating operations.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and apparatus for estimating statistical properties of noise in modulated data carrier signals represented by modulated data symbols are disclosed. The method comprises generating an instantaneous estimate of the statistical property of noise from the received modulated data symbols on a sample by sample basis and applying a compensation function to the instantaneous estimate. The method further comprises averaging an output of the compensation function to determine the estimated statistical property of noise.
Abstract:
A single format of MAC control message may be used for the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of users in a group within a wireless network. In some cases, a change in the nature of the group may be implemented immediately upon receipt of a positive acknowledgement. A mobile station may determine its ACID without maintaining information about the previous ACID or startup frame.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus that may include a transceiver operable to communicate with a receiver in a wireless network and adapted to select an optimal mode for transmissions, wherein the receiver estimates the optimal mode and feeds it back to the transceiver which changes a transmitted mode accordingly and wherein the optimal mode is based on a predetermined metric based on a performance equation that puts a threshold to separate between a high correlated signal to low correlation signal.

Abstract:
A method for detectable a pre-amble location in a multiple preamble OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system is disclosed. An OFDM signal is generated with a plurality of frames, and each of the frames includes symbols and a predetermined preamble symbol. A maximum FDDC (Frequency Domain Differential Correlator) value is computed for each of the symbols in some of the frames. The pre-amble location in a frame is determined by summing the maximum FDDC value for each symbol at a same frame location in consecutive frames of the OFDM signal.
Abstract:
A method for estimating the error vector magnitude (EVM) of an OFDM signal comprises the steps of obtaining a multi-tone EVM of a separate multi-tone signal, and using the multi-tone EVM to estimate the OFDM EVM. The multi-tone signal is designed to have carriers that occupy a small fraction of OFDM bins, and its EVM is estimated from the ratio of sums of full bin energies and empty bin energies.
