Abstract:
An improved ink system for a single pan design of a rotogravure printing press includes: the reservoir enclosing a substantial portion of the gravure cylinder; the intake section bottom having a slope at the bottom of the intake section; an intake port through the bottom of the intake section; an outtake port through the bottom of the outtake section; the outtake section bottom having a slope at the bottom of the outtake section sloping toward the outtake port; a dam release lever connected to the gate and extending outside of the reservoir, a plurality of channels through the vortex promoter; a pre-wipe bar located between the doctor blade and the vortex promoter; journal port seals located on each side of the gravure cylinder; and an angled doctor blade holder.
Abstract:
Abstract:
For use with an ink chamber housing of a printing machine, a combination includes a doctor blade adapted to be secured to the ink chamber housing (10) so as to extend outwardly therefrom, the doctor blade including a doctoring plate (16) having a rear portion to be secured to the ink chamber housing and a front doctoring edge in contact with the outer surface of the roll (12) to meter ink thereto, and a chamber doctor blade shield (22) having one end fixed to the doctor blade in spaced relation from the doctoring edge and a second opposite free end unsecured to the doctoring plate, so as to cover the outer surface of the ink chamber housing to prevent ink from depositing thereon when the combined doctor blade and chamber doctor blade shield is clamped to the chamber housing.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention refers to a novel support for a doctor blade (31) in a rotogravure printing machines. The doctor blade (31) performs a smooth lateral oscillation to remove ink that tends to dry behind the doctor blade (31), and thanks to the lack of gearing for conducting the motion, the system is extremely precise and low in maintenance. The novel support is made of two elastic laminar members (41, 42) on each side of the doctor blade (31).
Abstract:
A doctor blade system for printing units is disclosed, which is arranged for applying ink, lacquer, adhesive or the like to a rotatable cylinder in a printing unit, comprising an elongate frame, having a supporting portion and at least one clamping portion, which frame is arranged parallel to and outside the cylinder and on which are mounted, on each clamping portion of the frame, an elongate doctor blade also disposed parallel to the cylinder and arranged in operative position, to be wipingly applied against the cylinder, each clamping portion comprising an elongate slit into which a doctor blade is intended to be partly introduced and fixed by clamping means, wherein the clamping means (3) is resiliently arranged for providing a damping action for the doctor blade (5). The invention also relates to a doctor blade clamping device, a chambered doctor blade system, a printing unit, a method for clamping a doctor blade, and a method for attaching a clamping portion of a chambered doctor blade frame.
