Abstract:
A locking system for mechanical joining of floorboards, in which immediately juxtaposed upper parts of taco adjacent joint edges of two joined floorboards together define a joint plane perpendicular to a principal plane of the floorboards, the locking system providing a joining of the two joint edges perpendicular to the joint plane, the locking system including a locking groove which is formed in an underside of and extends in parallel with a first of the two joint edges at a distance from the joint plane and a portion projecting from a lower part of a second of the two joint edges and below the first joint edge and integrated with a body of the board, the projecting portion supporting at a distance from the joint plane a locking element cooperating with the locking groove, the projecting portion being located entirely outside the joint plane seen from a side of the second joint edge, and the projecting portion having a material composition other than that of the body of the board, tie projecting portion includes at least two horizontally juxtaposed parts, which two parts differ from each other with respect to at least one of the material composition and a material property.
Abstract:
Floor panels are provided with a mechanical locking system having small local protrusions which reduce displacement along the joint when the panels are laying flat on the sub floor and locked vertically and horizontally. A method to install a floor comprising a plurality of rectangular floor panels laying in parallel rows on a sub floor with long and short edges which are connectable to each other along one pair of adjacent long edges and one pair of adjacent short edges.
Abstract:
A connector for mechanically joining abutting construction elements each having a groove therein, comprising a support, at least one split tongue extending from the support, the split tongue including flexible sub-tongues having angled catches for engaging steps located in the groove. During insertion the sub-tongues are flexed toward each other and remain in a partially restored configuration. This, combined with the angled catches, reduces the space between the abutting construction elements.
Abstract:
A floorboard system includes a plurality of floorboards, wherein each of the floorboards is a rectangular floorboard provided with long edges and short edges and having a floorboard body provided with an integrated long edge locking system and an integrated short edge locking system for mechanical joining, both vertically and horizontally, the floorboards, along the long edges thereof and along the short edges thereof. The long edge locking system differs from the short edge locking system in respect of at least one of material composition and material properties. And, at least one of the long edge locking system and the short edge locking system includes a separate element which is integrally connected with the floorboard body at the factory and is made of a material other than that included in the floorboard body.

Abstract:
A road construction comprised of a plurality of identical invertible polygonal panels with each panel comprising a plurality of single piece peripheral frame members fixed together to define a polygonal configuration and each of the members having a roughly L-shaped projection extending therefrom which is adapted to be interlocked with an identical projection of an associated member. Each panel also has a pair of load-carrying sheets fixed on opposite sides of its frame members.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing system for aiming to reduce cost in a flooring board. SOLUTION: This fixing system is for mechanically joining the flooring board 1 along a vertical joint surface F, and is provided with a fixing groove 14 formed on the lower side 3 of the first joint edge in a place a little separate from the joint surface F for joining orthogonal to the joint surface F, and a certain part P for supporting a fixing element 8 for cooperating with the fixing groove 14 in a place a little separate from the joint surface F under the first joint edge, by projecting from a lower part of the second joint edge 4a. A projecting part 2 is positioned on the whole outside surface of the joint surface F. The projecting part P presents at least mutually different two horizontally juxtaposed parts P1 and P2 on at least one of a parameter, a material composition and a material characteristic. Abstract:
A panel for a surface covering system of a plurality of like panels, the panel comprising: a base layer; a first joint extrusion attached along a first edge of the base layer; a second joint extrusion attached along a second edge of the base layer, opposite the first edge; a covering layer covering at least part of the first joint extrusion and at least part of the second joint extrusion; wherein the first extrusion is configured to join to a second extrusion of an adjacent like panel, and the covering layer substantially conceals the first extrusion and the second extrusion when installed.
