Abstract:
A modular tile configured to interlock with multiple tiles to form a modular floor covering over a floor. The tile includes a top surface having a periphery defining side walls extending downward from the top surface, the side walls having a coupling portion configured to couple with other tiles adjacent thereto to form the modular floor covering. The tile also includes a bottom side, opposite the top surface, having a support grid including an array of downward extending polymeric post structures, at least some of the post structures including at least one resilient end portion with a radial end surface configured to be positioned against the floor to facilitate controlled deflection of the post structures. The post structures may comprise primary and secondary post structures, with the secondary post structures limiting the deflection of the primary post structures.
Abstract:
A user-configurable floor mat includes a removably attached one or more tiles, each tile of which may contain one or more segments. Each tile may be connected to adjoining tiles via removably attachable connectors. The removably attachable connectors may have at least one terminal end. Removably attachable connectors having at least two ends may be used to connect two or more adjoining tiles.
Abstract:
A flooring system for use in a residential environment. The flooring system includes a subfloor adapted to support the mass of a user and modular surface covering elements for disposition in edge to edge covering arrangement across at least a portion of the subfloor. The modular surface covering elements include a pile fabric face with an arrangement of yarns projecting outwardly defining a pile layer for contact by a user. At least one layer of cushioning material is disposed in contacting relation at a position below the pile fabric face.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus providing a tile configured to form a modular floor covering including an array of substantially identical tiles. The tile includes a top surface, bottom side, front and rear sides and first and second lateral sides. The top surface includes an elongated shape and the bottom side includes a support grid. The front and rear sides are defined along a longitudinal length of the elongated shape. The front side includes at least one first hinge member and the rear side includes at least one complementary second hinge member configured to be engageable with the at least one first hinge member of an adjacently positioned tile. The first and second lateral sides define a width of the elongated shape with the first and second lateral sides including a respective tab and slot coupling portion each having a coupling length at least one-third the width of the elongated shape.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Set of elements of the floor contains segments with sockets (7) located on the sides of the segments and connectors (4, 5) binding adjacent segments placed in these sockets (7). The coupling connectors have a cuboids shape with a shell of a polygon, where the basis of the shape corresponds to the shape of dual-socket. The connector is fitted with an opening located in the upper shell. Most preferably the connectors (4), in their cross-section, have an outline of symmetric trapezoids joined by shorter bases.
Abstract:
A mat for hidden-type splicing includes a mat body and a splicing bottom base connected thereto. Sides of the splicing bottom base are formed with two adjacent convex parts and two adjacent concave parts. The convex part has a convex part connection surface disposed corresponding to and being flush with a side edge of the mat body. Outwardly convex splicing teeth are disposed on the convex part connection surface and protrude outside the side edge, and adjacent two of which have a splicing outer groove formed therebetween. The concave part has a concave part connection surface disposed corresponding to and being flush with another side edge of the mat body. Inwardly concave splicing grooves are disposed in the concave part connection surface, and adjacent two of which have a splicing inner tooth formed therebetween. The mat body completely covers the two concave parts located therebelow.
Abstract:
An impact attenuating tile system that can be selectively installed and uninstalled without damaging the modular tiles making up the system is disclosed. The system uses a support ladder to support the seam between two modular tiles. The seam can support wheelchairs and other heavy equipment positioned on the seam between two tiles without the tiles coming apart. Additionally, the tiles can be selectively removed without damaging or disfiguring the tiles. The system taught herein allows a user to implement a system which provides fall height attenuation, is ADA complaint, is not prone to creating tripping hazards even under high loads, and can be removed or replaced as deemed appropriate and can be selectively removed without cutting, disfiguring compromising the tiles.
Abstract:
Rubber pavers of recycled vehicle tires are gaining popularity with consumers because they are “green” (friendly to our planet Earth) and they have other special features such as noise and impact absorbing, slip and frost resistance, and ease of maintenance. However, there is a major problem with rubber pavers, i.e., the corners of a rubber paver curl up for non-glued-down installation. The corner curling becomes worse and worse as paver's thickness decreases. This invention invented Corner-Interlocking designs to prevent corner curling. This Corner-Interlocking invention prevents corners from curling and interlocks rubber pavers (especially for thin rubber pavers) in place for non-glue-down installation.
