Abstract:
A piston pin bushing consisting of a brass alloy containing between 30 and 32.2 wt. % zinc. between 1.8 and 2.2 wt. % aluminium, between 1.8 and 2.2 wt. % manganese, between 1.4 an 2.2 wt. % nickel and between 1.4 and 2.0 wt. % iron, in addition to optional contaminant-related constituents with a respective maximum content of 0.2 wt. % and a maximum total content of 1 wt. %, the remaining percentage consisting of copper. The bushing is cut in the form of a longitudinal section from a continuously cast pipe, whose exterior has been previously machined and can be used without being subjected to a forging process following the cutting operation.
Abstract:
Engineered surface treatments are applied to different types of hydraulic motors and pumps to improve the life of the contacting surfaces in said motors and pumps. The engineered surface treatments are selected from texture modifications and tribiological coatings and selectively applied to one or both of the contacting surfaces to reduce friction and improve fatigue life under poor lubrication operating conditions.
Abstract:
The durability of a coating layer formed on the sliding surface between two members of a compressor, and the sliding contact between the two members, is kept excellent over a long period of time. In a peripheral portion 10d of a swash plate 10, a pair of shoes 20 are connected to the swash plate 10 while intervening between the swash plate 10 and a piston 8. Both the swash plate 10 and the shoes 20 are formed from an iron series material. A film 23 is formed on both surfaces 22 of the peripheral portion 10d of the swash plate 10, and the shoes 20 slide on the film 23 on the swash plate 10. The film 23 is a coating layer formed from a resin containing metallic particles. The particle size of the metallic particles is larger than the thickness of the film 23 (e.g., from 10 to 100 &mgr;m), and the surface of the film 23 is made smooth by polishing. The resin functioning as a binder of the metallic particles is formed from, for example, a polyimide resin.
Abstract:
A heat dissipation fan includes a fan frame, a stator mounted to the frame, and a rotor rotatably disposed around the stator. The fan frame includes a bracket, a central tube for positioning the stator, and a supporting member. The supporting member is made of a material having a higher bending strength than a plastic material used to form the bracket and the central tube. The supporting member includes a main body connected to the central tube, a plurality of ribs extending radially outwardly from the main body, and a plurality of engaging units formed at free ends of the ribs, respectively. The engaging units are embedded in the bracket for integrally connecting the central tube to the bracket.

Abstract:
A rotary compressor has a plate-like hollow vane disposed in sliding contact with a rotary piston. The vane has an internal cavity formed by a plurality of bores each having a substantially rectangular cross-section. The corners of each bore are each formed by a curved concave surface of a radius of curvature which is greater than the thicknesses of the outer walls of the vane. The major side surfaces of the vane are in slidable contact with opposing walls of a vane slot and have surface layers each formed of an oxide film consisting mainly of tri-iron tetraoxide (Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4). The film is finished by smoothing processing, thus attaining a smaller friction between the vane major side surfaces and the vane slot walls and suppressing local wear of the vane slot walls.

Abstract:
A sliding member of an iron-based non-porous material, such as vane, of a rotary compressor has a sliding surface processed by a surface treatment in which the surface is subjected to oxidizing and nitriding to form an oxidized and nitrided layer thereon. The surface is then subjected to a steam-treatment in which water is caused to react with components of the oxidized and nitrided layer to form a layer of oxidized iron of a porous network structure disposed outwardly of the oxidized and nitrided layer. The oxidized iron layer is composed mainly of tri-iron tetroxide and softer than the oxidized and nitrided layer.

Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a metal blading sector for low-pressure guide vanes of a turbomachine of which at least one blade includes an internal cavity configured to accept or communicate with a gas detection probe and at least one hole formed in the wall constituting a passage for gas from a low-pressure zone of the turbomachine toward the cavity and the probe through the fitting, into a casting mold, of a core corresponding to the cavity and the casting of a molten metal in the cavity of the casting mold. The core includes, for each hole for communication with the cavity, a protrusion penetrating the internal surface of the mold and constituting the only element holding the core in position in the casting mold.
