Abstract:
Apparatus and method for mechanically attached connections of conduits may include a conduit gripping member (34), a drive member (36), and a seal member (48), the drive member (36) causing axial movement of the conduit gripping member (34) to indent into an outer surface of the conduit when the assembly is pulled-up, the drive member (36) causing the seal member (48) to form a zero clearance seal at a location that is axially spaced from the conduit gripping member (34). The zero clearance seal may comprise a face seal arrangement including a gasket (48), and the conduit gripping member (34) may be a ferrule, ring or other device that can grip and optionally seal against the conduit outer surface. The assembly may include an optional sensing function for detecting or sensing a characteristic or condition of an assembly component or the fluid or both.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing an expandable threaded connection between segments of expandable tubulars. Threaded connections are machined into pre-expanded ends of tubulars. Once the threaded connections are machined into the pre-expanded ends, two joints of tubulars are connected using the threads, thus creating a pre-expanded threaded connection. After a tubular string is made up and lowered into a wellbore, the entire length of the string is expanded using known methods for expanding tubulars. During the downhole expansion operation, the pre-expanded threaded connections experience minimal expansion. The minimal downhole expansion of the pre-expanded threaded connections allows the threaded connections to maintain their sealing ability and coupling strength.
Abstract:
A retention device is provided for positioning and retaining an open generally cylindrical hose clamp on a selected hose. The device extends generally about a longitudinal axis and has a retainer and a locator spaced axially from the retainer in side-by-side relationship. The locator and retainer are coupled together and the locator is adapted to hold the clamp while the retainer is adapted to engage the hose to maintain the device in position on the hose. The retainer is in the form of pair of looped hose engaging elements terminating at respective free ends and cantilevered to extend in opposite directions from a connecting web coupling the locator to the retainer.
Abstract:
Fittings of this invention comprise a body having a substantially hollow transport passage extending between a body first end and a body second end. The fitting body ends are adapted to accommodate attachment with respective fluid handling devices. The fitting has a hexagonal outside surface portion for grasping and rotating the fitting. An interlocking attachment member is disposed along an outside surface of the fitting body and is adapted to form an interlocking attachment with a complementary member of a fluid handling device when the fitting is connected thereto. The interlocking attachment member comprises a plurality of ratchet teeth that are configured to register with a complementary fluid handling device member. The fitting body first end includes a tongue that is configured to provide an interference fit within a groove in a fluid handling device opening to provide a leak-tight seal between the fitting the fluid handling device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for a dry disconnect coupling. The dry disconnect coupling includes a first coupling member for coupling to a second coupling member. A circuit provides a first signal based on when the first coupling member is disconnected to the second coupling member. Thermally coupled to the first coupling member is a first heater. The first heater generates heat based on the first signal.

Abstract:
Apparatus (100) for performing at least one operation on a pipeline (101) from within the pipeline (101), the apparatus (100) being propellable along and within the pipeline (101), wherein the apparatus comprises: at least one operational means (110, 130, 140, 150, 160) for performing the at least one operation on the pipeline (101) from therewithin, and actuation means for actuating operation of the at least one operational means (110, 130, 140, 150, 160), the actuation means comprising a pressurised fluid, wherein a supply (200) of said pressurised fluid is provided in or on the apparatus (100), the supply preferably being in the form of a reservoir (200) of the pressurised fluid carried onboard a fluid supply module (120) of the apparatus (100).
Abstract:
A pressurized fluid delivery apparatus (10) such as a pressure washer or sprayer including a pump (26) adapted to provide a pressurized fluid, a conduit (46) fluidly connected with the pump to receive the pressurized fluid from the pump, a fluid accessory (54a) fluidly connected with the conduit to receive the pressurized fluid from the conduit, and a quick-disconnect assembly (74) selectively fluidly connecting the fluid accessory and the conduit. The quick-disconnect assembly includes a male fitting coupled to one of the fluid accessory and the conduit. The male fitting includes a male component and a first non-circular surface. The quick-disconnect assembly also includes a female fitting coupled to the other of the fluid accessory and the conduit. The female fitting includes a female component having an opening for receiving the male component and a second non-circular surface coupled to the first non-circular surface to prevent rotation between the male fitting and the female fitting.
Abstract:
A fluid coupling includes various features. One feature is a disconnect tool that may expand a lock ring from engagement with a lock shoulder to permit the male half and female half to be separated. Another feature is to utilize geometry and structure whereby a leak would occur to indicate the condition of wear within the coupling while the coupling halves remain mechanically coupled. A further feature is to provide connection verification structure to assure that a complete connection of the male end female halves has been made. A still further feature is to provide an anti-rotational sleeve which would selectively prevent and permit relative rotation between the male half and the female half.
