Abstract:
A method for simulating the final finish of a multi-component finish material comprises submitting or receiving a request describing a desired single or multicolor surface appearance in a finish simulator to generate one or more simulated appearance samples, obtaining feedback on said simulated appearance sample and, if necessary, modifying said sample to simulate said desired surface appearance. The finish simulator comprises a library of finish templates that have been produced and software or processing means to apply rules to adjust the simulated finish for known changes in chemistry, composition, and application conditions. In addition, the appearance of an actual multicolor sample is reproduced by separating the sample into areas of different individual colors, identifying the individual color of each of said areas, translating said individual area colors into color values that correspond to those in a database of colors that have been produced, and searching the database for existing colors that are close matches for those in the sample. The final finish of the closely matching colors is preferably simulated and assessed electronically using a finish simulator. The method of the present invention reduces the total time necessary to generate a multi-component color finish to match a given sample and can eliminate the need for making trial finishes in assessing color finishes for matching.
Abstract:
Method and system for analyzing hair, predicting achievable end colors and recommending hair color agents based on recipient specific input. Includes methods for (a) identifying an achievable end hair color based upon at least one starting hair value of a recipient; (b) for identifying a hair coloring agent based upon at least one starting hair value of a recipient; and (c) for outputting an image for a hair color analyzing system. Also includes (d) a method for providing a hair coloring product to a consumer comprising the steps of: (i) identifying achievable end hair colors for the consumer, (ii) depicting the achievable end colors to the consumer, (iii) allowing the consumer to select a desired end hair color, and (iv) recommending to the consumer a hair coloring agent to achieve said desired end hair color.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The method (300) comprises: - computing (302) a saliency map of the original image, - for each of a plurality of color harmonic schemes: - determining (312) a temporary harmonized image from the original image according to the current color harmonic scheme, - computing (322) a saliency map of the temporary harmonized image, - comparing (323) the saliency map of the original image and the saliency map of the temporary harmonized image, in order to obtain a saliency comparison result, - computing (324) a corrected color comparison result from colors of the original image, colors of the current color harmonic scheme and the saliency comparison result, - selecting (332), as the harmonized image, the temporary harmonized image obtained with the color harmonic scheme minimizing the corrected color comparison result.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to color-matching articles and to methods of using color-matching article to match paint formulations to target substrates.
Abstract:
A colour selection system is provided which comprises a memory for storing grouping information which categorises each of a plurality of colours into one of a plurality of colour groups. In response to an initial colour selection made by a user, the system determines the group in which the selected colour belongs and generates a selection of colours, using colours which belong to the determined group, from which a user can select one or more further colour in addition to the initially selected colour. The groups of colours are chosen so that the user can only select colours which are deemed to be 'harmonious' with each other.
