Abstract:
The application relates to modular electronic apparatus (1) for distribution of RF communication signals. The apparatus comprises a chassis (2) arranged to removably receive plural modules (3), at least some of which are arranged to receive and process RF communication signals. A communication path (17) is provided for modules to communicate with each other and/or with the chassis. Plural modules received in the chassis. When a module is received in the chassis, it is arranged to broadcast a message over the communication path indicating its presence in the chassis and its type. At least one other module is arranged to adapt its behaviour in response to the message.
Abstract:
A modular system for the connection of an external communication network to a user network of a building includes: a user module including: a passage opening of a connection cable of the user network including optical fibers associated with respective users and adapters associated with respective optical fibers of the connection cable of the user network, and an operator module including: an inlet opening of at least one connection cable to the external communication network including optical fibers and an outlet opening of fiber optic connection elements connected to the external communication network and provided with a connector at a terminal end thereof. The user module and the operator module are structurally independent from each other and the external communication network is operatively associated with the user network by means of a connection of the connectors of the fiber optic connection elements with respective selected adapters of the user module.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a distributor device for use in communication and data systems technology, comprising at least one distributor connection module. Said distributor connection module comprises a housing which houses input and output contacts, accessible from the exterior, for connecting lines, cables or wires. The distributor device comprises at least one additional connection module which comprises at least one SDH/SONET transport interface and outputs for electrical signals. The outputs of the connection module are connected to inputs of the distributor connection module. The connection module comprises at least one converter for converting SDH/SONET transport signals to E1 signals and vice versa. The invention also relates to a corresponding connection module and a corresponding distributor connection module.
Abstract:
A patch panel system including a chassis and a plurality of modules. The chassis includes elongated structures configured to interconnect top, bottom and side portions of the chassis. The elongated structures are also configured to receive and secure a printed circuit board and the plurality of modules to the chassis. The modules include a housing and a module card. The card can include a variety of connections that provide communication to connections located on a back plane of the chassis. The system can include a combination of passive and active modules that are interchangeable to provide a variety of interface configurations.
Abstract:
A peripheral access module transports voice and data between the common control equipment and the peripheral equipment of a telephone switch. The peripheral access module determines the protocol for transporting the voice and data, and determines the type of medium to effect the transporting. The peripheral access module operatively connects to the peripheral equipment and adaptively reside on a card of the common control equipment.
Abstract:
A telephone switching system regenerates a clock signal transmitted from control equipment to peripheral equipment. The switching system receives a clock signal from the control equipment at the peripheral equipment. The clock signal is compared to a reference clock signal generated at the peripheral equipment to determine a phase error. The phase error is accumulated over a time period as determined by the peripheral equipment. The system adjusts the modulo of a ring counter as a function of the accumulated phase error. The output of the ring counter can then be used in timing functions within the peripheral equipment.
Abstract:
A modular digital telephone system and method featuring a universal telephony shelf adaptable for incremental expansion of legacy telephone switches and as a building block in the construction of new telephony switches. The shelf includes identification and connectors for shelf pairing, and is adapted to receive redundant power supplies, plural line cards, and either a peripheral shelf interface unit or a switch array card which provides both a local shelf interface and three interface units for connection to the peripheral interface units of other shelves. System wide fault displays are provided.
Abstract:
Trunk and line circuits packaged as modules are provided with circuitry for generating self-identifying type-code information which is retrievable on request by the central control unit of the system. The received information is compared with the type-code information contained in the data memory of the central control unit. Upon non-correlation between the received and the stored type-code information, an alarm signal is generated. In the described embodiment, the type-code information generating circuitry on each board comprises a voltage level source individual of the type of board and an analog to digital converter circuit associated with the board.
Abstract:
A patch panel includes a back plane having front mounted pairs of termination locations, and an interconnect location electrically connected to each pair of termination locations. The termination locations connect to two patch cords. The interconnect location defines an access device for selectively accessing the termination locations. An interconnect module interfaces with the interconnect location. The module can include test access, power over Ethernet, or circuit protection features.
Abstract:
