Abstract:
A method for detection and visualization of latent fingerprints is provided and includes contacting a substrate containing a latent print thereon with a colloidal metal composition for time sufficient to allow reaction of said colloidal metal composition with said latent print, and preserving or recording the observable print. Further, the method for detection and visualization of latent fingerprints can include contacting the metal composition-latent print reaction product with a secondary metal-containing solution for time sufficient to allow precipitation of said secondary metal thereby enhancing the visibility of the latent print, and preserving or recording the observable print.
Abstract:
Process and apparatus for analysing feet to determine appropriate optimal footwear by making imprints of the feet which are compated with a number of standardized types of foot, wherein also the wear-gaitline and the position of the shoe seen from the back are involved. The apparatus is arranged as a form set according to figure 1.
Abstract:
A procedure capable of characterizing, visibly, with different images, writing, initials or numbers, and invisibly, with passive emitting materials, the surface of natural or artificial teeth. The required decorative or emitting effect is obtained due to the fact that the extremely thin decoration, usually a decalcomonia or other printed support, or the plate or emitting film rests between two layers of photopolymerized, transparent bonding material and that its surface may possibly be covered by a further layer of transparent compound. Both the application and the removal of the aforesaid images, once applied, cause no damage to the tooth.
Abstract:
This invention concerns a process and system for identifying persons by detection of the temperature distribution in the epithelial structure of the epidermis in the finger tip of the person te be identified.
Abstract:
A fingerprint sensing device comprises an array of sense elements (12) each of which includes a sense electrode (14) which together with an overlying fingerprint portion forms a capacitor (35). The capacitor is charged by operation of a first switching device (16) via a first address conductor (18). A second switching device (17) is then operated to transfer the charge on the sense electrode to a second address conductor (20) where it is sensed (24) and an output indicative of capacitance provided accordingly. Fast, reliable, scanning is achieved. A row and column array of sense elements is conveniently addressed using sets of row and column conductors (18, 20) and the device can readily be implemented using thin film devices, e.g. TFTs, as the switching devices on an insulating support and with integrated drive circuits.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method of identifying people by means of the sweat glands in the skin of a finger and/or by means of the structure of a skin-forming layer located below the stratum corneum. To that end, ultrasound waves are emitted into the skin and the echoes received are evaluated.
Abstract:
A fingerprinting device including a thin, flat transparent medium (10) with an outer surface engageable by a fingertip and an inner surface supporting a two-dimensional array of light-sensitive elements with linear gaps therebetween, as well as a substrate (14) with an inner surface supporting light sources for directing a light beam substantially orthogonal to said outer surface through the linear gaps in the medium. The light-sensitive elements are shielded from the light from the light sources so that they provide an output only in response to the light backscattered onto the outer surface of the medium.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for the analysis of surface structures and near-surface patterns of objects and/or for detecting the position of objects using ultrasound waves with an ultrasound transmitter, an ultrasound receiver and a plate used as a support surface for the object. The aim of the invention is a method and a device enabling compact wave course and a flat and, possibly, even a compact and small embodiment. In the method according to the invention the waves scattered back and/or reflected from the object are conveyed along the plate and fed to transducers for analysis. The device suitable for carrying out the method comprises a plate, suitable for conveying one-dimensional or two-dimensional waves, and a receiver, or a receiver and transmitter are arranged at the side of said plate.
Abstract:
A cartridge useful in detecting fingerprints includes a housing with a chamber therein and an outlet from the chamber. The chamber contains a thermally stable porous or fibrous support impregnated with both: 1) a cyanoacrylate ester, and 2) a volatile, emissive lanthanide metal-complex or actinide metal-complex. Upon the application of sufficient heat to the support, the cyanoacrylate and metal complex volatilize and co-deposit on fingerprint residue to enhance the visualization of the fingerprint.
Abstract:
An impression sheet assembly is proposed to enable the pressure exerted on a plane to be determined accurately in a simple manner. This assembly comprises a transparent sheet (1) which is located on the outside and on which the pressure of varying magnitude has to be exerted. The transparent sheet (1) is provided with an adhesive layer (2) on the inside. A component (4) which releases dye and when put under pressure enters into a reaction with the adhesive layer (2) of the transparent sheet (1) is arranged beneath said adhesive layer (2). There is a carrier sheet (6) beneath the dye-releasing component (4). After the image of the pressure distribution has been produced on the adhesive layer (2) and the dye-releasing component (4) has been removed, the adhesive layer (2) is joined to the carrier sheet (6). By providing the carrier sheet (6) with a grid pattern (7) or the like, it is possible, with the aid of a comparison with, for example, a calibration chart (11), accurately to determine the pressure in a specific position from the coloration.
