Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new asymmetric siloxy compound capable of giving improved physical properties to rubbers as a reactive coupling agent used between the rubbers and silica filler, etc., and useful for producing tires, belts, hoses, etc. SOLUTION: A new siloxy compound of formula I [R -R are each a 1-8C alkoxy; R is a 1-15C alkylene, a (substituted) 6-10C arylene; R is a 1-15C alkylene, a (substituted) 6-10C arylene; (y) is 2-8; X is a group of formula II, etc.] or formula III [(z) is 1-8; W is a group of formula IV, etc.]. The compound of formula I or III is useful as a reactive coupling agent used between rubbers and silica filler, etc., and can give improved physical properties to the rubbers. The siloxy compound is obtained by condensing a trialkoxysilyl compound of formula V with a compound of formula VI or a compound of formula VII (Z is Ti, Al, Zr).
