Abstract:
A fastening means for fastening a protective or covering sheet material (20), such as plastic film or textile material, to a scaffold (21) or another frame structure is formed like a strip or band having a film piercing pointed end (11) and an adjacent barb-like member (12). The opposite end portion (15) having a plurality of resilient, longitudinally spaced barb-like projections (16) may be passed through an opening or slot (14) in the band-like member. When the sheet material (20) is to be fastened to the scaffold (21) the sheet material is punctured by means of the pointed end (11). The head formed by the pointed end (11) and by the barb-like member (12) is then passed through the opening thus formed in the sheet material. Thereafter the strip member (15) is passed around an adjacent element of the scaffold (21) and inserted through an opening (14) formed in the strip member. The connection thus formed between the sheet material and the scaffold may now be tightened up by pulling the free end (17) of the strip member in the direction indicated by an arrow (24).
Abstract:
A seam joint building system for joining structural panels at right angles. A male element (7) on one edge (4) of one panel (2) is adapted to fit into a female element (5) on a corresponding edge (3) of a second structural panel (1). The female element (5) has a reversed or folded-back character which provides structural rigidity when the panels are joined. The system is suitable for the construction of small structures such as collapsible animal houses.
