Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments for configuring a system for monitoring the performance of a control loop of an industrial plant includes reading in first process data derived from measurements of at least one sensor inside the control loop during a specified control situation, calculating from the first process data a corresponding at least one performance index indicating the behaviour of the control loop and determining a first quality of the control performance depending on the difference between the at least one performance index and a corresponding threshold value. In case that the first quality of the control performance is determined to be less than good, a second quality of the control performance is determined either by calculating the second quality from an analysis of second process data or by processing a user input from a user of the system which indicates the second quality.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented system and method for predictive and diagnostic analysis of an electrical transmission, generation and distribution asset health includes a computer with a non-transient computer readable medium able to receive data regarding an asset, its components, component subsystem and parameters related thereto. Instructions stored on the non-transient computer readable medium execute instructions that predictively calculate overall asset health and also calculated the states of subsystems and component parameters, providing a diagnostic of the causes of poor asset health.

An exemplary coil actuator for an associated switching device which can be actuated during its operation from an open position to a closed position to allow a current to flow therethrough and from the closed position to the open position to interrupt such flowing from flowing therethrough. The coil actuator includes a coil electromagnet arranged to move between a rest position and an actuating position, wherein movement from the rest position to the actuating position is suitable to cause the actuation of the switching device; and an electronic component arranged to count an operation time which is indicative of the duration of the actuation of the switching device.

Abstract:
Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for assessing power system equipment of a power system. Historical sensor data and/or historical field test data collected from the power system equipment may be utilized to develop a health profile of the power system equipment. The health profile is indicative of a predicted health (e.g., or probability of failure) of the power system equipment. In one embodiment, the health profile further comprises a health index score which evaluates that health of the power system equipment in terms of the importance of the power system equipment to the power system. Using the health profiles developed for a plurality of power system equipment, a maintenance strategy for at least a portion of the power system may be developed.
Abstract:
Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for monitoring an operating condition of an electrical component, such as electrical switchgear. In one example, temperatures associated with an electrical conductor connection within the electrical component may be evaluated against one or more expected temperatures curves derived from a linear regression model to determine whether the electrical conductor connection has failed or is starting to fail. In another example, temperature readings may be monitored to determine whether a temperature reading at one location is out of sync with temperature readings at other locations. An electrical conductor connection associated with a location of the out of sync temperature may be determined as faulty. In another example, a Euclidean distance model and/or a correlation coefficient model may be used to identify a faulty electrical conductor connection. In this way, failure and/or potential failure of the electrical component may be predicted.

Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments are directed to an electrical component for a high-voltage installation. The electrical component in a coaxial arrangement, has an electrical conductor which extends along an axis and is connected to high-voltage potential and a rigid insulating body. The insulting body is fastened on the electrical conductor and surrounds the electrical conductor. A mounting flange is fastened on the insulating body, and is connected to ground potential. A dome-shaped control electrode is electrically connectively connected to the electrical conductor and is fastened to one end of the electrical conductor. During operation of the installation, the control electrode controls the electrical field between the electrical conductor and the mounting flange. The control electrode is connected non-detachably to the electrical conductor and has a dimensionally stable dome consisting of the solid polymer composition to provide a simple manufacturing process and increase the operational reliability of the component.
