Abstract: A stainless steel wire is plated with nickel (Ni) to a thickness of from not less than 1 mu m to not more than 5 mu m. An inorganic salt coat film mainly composed of at least one of potassium sulfate and borax (borate) and free from fluorine (F) or chlorine (Cl) is then deposited on the nickel (Ni) plate 2 as the substrate. The steel wire is then drawn to a reduction of area of not less than 60% to adjust the surface roughness thereof to a range of from 0.80 to 12.5 mu mRz, preferably from 1.0 to 10.0 mu mRz.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Novel lubricant and friction modifier compositions optionally comprising a solid lubricant and a binding agent in water medium suitable for lubricating steel-steel interfaces such as tractor-trailer couplings, rail-wheel systems and other heavy duty applications, are provided. CONSTITUTION: A water-based lubricant composition for lubricating steel-to-steel interfaces comprises (a) at least about 24% by weight water; (b) about 8% by weight binding agent; (c) at least about 2% by weight solid lubricant; and (d) at least 0.002% by weight wetting agent.

Abstract: A grease composition sealed in a rolling contact bearing contains a base oil in the form of a mixture of an alkyldiphenylether oil and a poly-(alpha)-olefin oil. The weight ratio of the former to the latter is between 20:80 and 80:20. 5-40% by weight of thickening agent which is at least one of an aromatic diurea compound and an aromatic urea-urethane compound is added to the base oil. Further, a passivation oxidizing agent and an organic sulfonate are added.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a powdery lubricant for aluminum alloy forging. A mixture of a lubricant base material composed of an inorganic compound and an organic compound is formed into the lubricant wherein at least the lubricant base material has a powdery or granulated form. The lubricant of the present invention allows for the production of high quality forging in a forging work, with good workability and without worsening environmental conditions.

Abstract: The invention relates to an agent for producing a water-in-oil emulsion, which is characterised in that it contains at least one non-ionic surfactant, at least one substance which forms a membrane, at least one organic or inorganic metal salt of calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese or cerium. The invention also relates to a water-in-oil emulsion which contains said type of agent, a method for hydrophilising organic oil and to the use of said agent for producing a water-in-oil emulsion. The invention is used, preferably, for hydrophilising organically based cutting cooling agents, organically based traction and moulding oils, diesel fuels, gasoline, lubricating oils, heavy oils, refined crude oil fractions, non-refined crude oil and fractions thereof.
