    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage-controlled oscillator capable of controlling a threshold voltage of MOS transistors independently of a temperature characteristic compensation signal and an external voltage frequency control signal. SOLUTION: The series connection of DC cut capacitors 9, 10 and a variable capacitor (MOS transistors 4, 5) is configured between one terminal and the other terminal of a crystal oscillator 3 for a load capacitance of the oscillator circuit comprising a feedback resistor 1, an inverter 2, and the crystal oscillator 3, by using a static capacitance produced between drain terminals and gate terminals of the MOS transistors 4, 5 whose source terminals and back-gate terminals are short-circuited as the variable capacitance. For example, the voltage-controlled oscillator is configured such that the external voltage frequency control signal is given to the drain terminals via high frequency eliminating resistors 11, 12, and a threshold voltage control signal of the MOS transistors 4, 5 is given to the source-back gate terminals via high frequency eliminating resistors 7, 8, and a signal resulting from superimposing a temperature characteristic compensation signal on the threshold voltage control signal of the MOS transistors 4, 5 is given to the gate terminals.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage-controlled oscillator that can be downsized and provides less restriction in the layout of components and an inner layer pattern and to provide a composite module and a communication apparatus.
    SOLUTION: A resonance circuit 2 comprises: a choke coil L4; a varactor diode D1; coupling capacitors C9, C10; a resonance capacitor C11; a resonator SL2; and a bypass capacitor C12. An amplifier circuit 3 comprises: a buffer amplifier transistor Tr1; an oscillation transistor Tr2; bias resistors R1 to R4; capacitors C4 to C7; bypass capacitors C1, C3, a coupling capacitor C2; a choke coil SL1; a resonance capacitor C8; and a resonance inductor SL3 acting as an inductive element. The bias resistor R3 electrically connected between the base of the oscillation transistor Tr2 and ground is connected to ground via the resonator SL3 whose one end is electrically connected to ground.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To modulate a frequency easily, by connecting a varactor diode from the output of an oscillation amplifiers toward the input. CONSTITUTION:Oscillation is performed by the positive feedback from a drain D in the output side of an oscillation amplifier 6 to a gate G in the input side through a dielectric resonator 7. A varactor diode 11 is provided between the input side and the output side in parallel with this positive feedback path. A bias voltage is given as a modulation signal to this varactor diode 11 to change the junction capacity, thereby changing the resonance frequency to modulate the frequency.
