The layer is cured by infrared irradiation, and the thickness of the layer is allowed to be increased by multiple applications of the liquid polybutadiene. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize the size of a club head while keeping the weight of the whole golf club desirable and useful. SOLUTION: This forged cavity back club and oversize club are improved in durability and workability. This forged club includes a thin durable hitting face having durability, and has a relatively large cavity volume. The club has a large rotational inertia moment to minimize the carry and accuracy penalties associated with off-center hits. A long iron club having the hitting face about 0.100 thick inch may be achieved. Further, after the stainless steel is forged, it is annealed to realize desired hardness and extensibility. Further, this invention discloses an interchangeable pin suitable for use in the manufacture of any of a set of iron-tye clubs without re-tooling.
