Abstract:
A surface-coated rubber or plastic sliding member having a coating with excellent durability and high slipperiness, wherein the coating comprises a solid lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide, a resin matrix and a reinforcement, said resin matrix comprising a fluoroolefin vinyl ether polymer resin and/or a fluoroolefin vinyl ether/vinyl ester copolymer resin.
Abstract:
There is provided a galvanized steel sheet with high press formability, which has an inorganic compound on a metallic galvanized layer thereof. The galvanized steel sheet according to the present invention is manufactured by bringing the plating surface of the galvanized steel sheet into contact with a water solution containing 0.1 wt% or more of a borate of alkaline metal, and then drying the steel sheet by heating within a temperature range of 60 to 400°C. The friction coefficient of the galvanized steel sheet of the invention is 80% or less of the friction coefficient obtained without the existence of the inorganic compound on the metallic galvanized layer and the amount of insoluble slimes of the inorganic compound left after water washing or alkali degreasing is less than 1 mg/m².
Abstract:
A method of providing improved lubrication of tools used for hot-working rare earth-transition metal alloy particles in which dry glass or glass/graphite lubricants are suitably applied to the working surfaces of the tools.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a thread compound, containing graphite, grease and usual additives, to a process for the preparation thereof and to the use of said compound. The thread compound according to the invention contains 20-50%, by weight, of powdered graphite, 10-25%, by weight, of powdered talc, and balance to 100%, by weight, of grease and the usual additives. The thread compounds according to the invention do not contain lead or lead compounds, but still have the above-mentioned desired properties. Preferred thread compounds of the invention comprise 28-35%, by weight, of the powdered graphite, 14-17.5%, by weight, of the powdered talc, and balance to 100%, by weight, of the grease and the usual additives. Surprisingly good results may be obtained when in the thread compound the amount of talc is about 50%, by weight, of the amount of the graphite.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for preparing metal workpieces for cold forming by first applying a phosphate layer and then applying a lubricant layer which has a major content in organic polymer material. The phosphate layer is formed by an aqueous acidic phosphating solution having a major content in calcium, magnesium or/and manganese and phosphate. The lubricant layer is formed by contacting the phosphated surface with an aqueous lubricant composition which has a content in organic polymer material based on ionomer and optionally also non-ionomer, the organic polymer material used predominantly being monomers, oligomers, co-oligomers, polymers or/and copolymers based on ionomer, acrylic acid/methacrylic acid, epoxide, ethylene, polyamide, propylene, styrene, urethane, the ester(s) or/and salt(s) thereof. The invention also relates to the corresponding lubricant composition, to the lubricant layer produced thereof and to its use.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a high-temperature lubricant for the heat treatment of metals, said lubricant consisting of a mixture of pulverulent materials. The aim of the invention is to provide a high-temperature lubricant with good free-flowing properties and behaviour for dissolving scale on heated metallic surfaces, said lubricant being applied in a powder form and enabling a good covering of the metallic surface, having good free-flowing properties without much agglutination even after a long storage period under production conditions, and avoiding the use of graphite. To this end, the mixture contains at least the following components: a) a secondary and/or tertiary calcium phosphate compound, b) a fatty acid or a fatty acid salt, c) boric acid, a boric acid salt (borate) and/or a mineral containing a boric acid salt (borate) and d) condensed alkali phosphate. The constituents of the mixture have an average particle size of 150 µm and the lubricant does not contain any added graphite.
Abstract:
This invention relates to the use of ionic liquids as lubricants in vapor compression systems for cooling or heating. This invention also relates to an apparatus for adjusting temperature that operates a vapor compression cycle.
