Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite layer slide member capable of exhibiting abrasion resistance and load resistance in a superior manner than those of a composite layer slide member containing lead or a lead alloy, and a rack guide in the rack-and-pinion steering device of an automobile which uses the composite layer slide member. SOLUTION: The composite layer slide member 51 includes a back metal 52, comprising a steel plate, the porous metal sintered layer 53 integrally formed on the surface of the back metal 52 and a slide layer 54, comprising a synthetic resin composition, filling the pore gaps of the porous metal sintered layer 53 that covers the surface of the porous metal sintered layer. The synthetic resin composition is composed of 5-30 wt.% barium sulfate, 1-15 wt.% magnesium silicate, 1-25 wt.% phosphate, 0.5-3 wt.% titanium oxide and the remainder of a tetrafluoroethylene resin. A gear lubricating oil composition comprising a base oil of lubricating viscosity having dissolved or dispersed therein an alkali metal borate or a hydrate thereof in an amount of 0.04 to 1.0 wt % in terms of boron content, an oil-soluble sulfur-containing extreme pressure agent in an amount of 0.01 to 5.0 wt % in terms of sulfur content, an oil-soluble phosphorus-containing extreme pressure agent in an amount of 0.001 to 1.0 wt % in terms of phosphorus content, and a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate in an amount of 0.01 to 1.0 wt % in terms of phosphorus content.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel lubricant and a friction modifier containing a solid lubricant and a binding agent as needed in an aqueous medium. SOLUTION: The problem to be solved is appropriate to lubricate steel-steel interfaces (e.g., tractor-trailer couplings, rail-wheel systems and other heavy duty applications). The invention is attained by a composition containing a friction modifier having a high or very high positive coefficient of friction such that the coefficient of friction is considerably higher than that of the solid lubricant. The invention further relates to a composition containing the binding agent and the friction modifier having a high or very high positive coefficient of friction in an aqueous medium. The present invention provides a grease composition which is excellent in peel resistance, not to mention lubricity, as compared with the prior art products. A novel grease composition for rolling bearing is provided, comprising a base oil, an extender, an inorganic compound-based filler having an average particle diameter of not more than 2 mum and zinc dithiocarbamate.

An aqueous lubricant for use in plastic working of a metallic material which comprises (A) a water soluble inorganic salt and (B) a wax, wherein the components are dissolved or dispersed in water, and wherein a solid concentration ratio (weight ratio) (B)/(A) is 0. 3 SIMILAR 1.5. and a method for producing a lubricative film, characterized in that a lubricative film is produced by applying the aqueous lubricant, preferably in a dried weight of 0.5 SIMILAR 40g/m , on the surface of a metallic material, providing no chemical conversion layer thereon, followed by drying. The aqueous lubricant preferably further comprises (C) a metal salt of a fatty acid in a solid concentration ratio (C) /(A) of 0.01 SIMILAR 0.4. The water soluble inorganic salt (A) is preferably selected from among a sulfate, a silicate, a borate, a molybdate and a tungstate. The wax is preferably a synthetic wax which is dispersed in water and has a melting point of 70 SIMILAR 150 DEG C. The metal salt of a fatty acid (C) is preferably obtained through reacting a saturated fatty acid having 12 SIMILAR 26 carbon atoms with a metal selected from among zinc, calcium, barium, aluminium, magnesium and lithium. The aqueous lubricant can be used for imparting excellent lubricity with ease to the surface of metal having no chemical conversion layer formed thereon.

PURPOSE: The titled lubricant, prepared by mixing a phosphoric acid (salt) with boric acid (salt), an alkaline metallic salt and a layered silicate in a specific proportion, and having improved lubricity and releasability without causing any smoking or dusting even in a hot state. CONSTITUTION: A lubricant prepared by mixing (A) a water-soluble glass (powder) containing (a) 40W55mol%, expressed in terms of P 2 O 5 , phosphoric acid (salt) (b) 9mol% or less, expressed in terms of B 2 O 3 , one or more salt selected from carbonates nitrates, sulfates and hydroxides of an alkaline metal (M) with (B) ususally 10W60wt% layered silicate, e.g. mica.
