    Abstract: A set of superconducting devices is interconnected in a lattice that is fabricated in a single two- dimensional plane of fabrication such that a superconducting connection can only reach a first superconducting device in the set while remaining in the plane by crossing a component of a second superconducting device that is also located in the plane. A superconducting coupling device having a span and a clearance height is formed in the superconducting connection of the first superconducting device. A section of the superconducting coupling device is separated from the component of the second superconducting device by the clearance in a parallel plane. A potential of a first ground plane on a first side of the component is equalized with a second ground plane on a second side of the component using the superconducting coupling device.

    Abstract: A high-capacity and high-performance rechargeable battery contains a cathode material layer having an improved surface roughness. The cathode material layer is provided in which at least an upper portion of the cathode material layer is composed of nanoparticles (i.e., particles having a particle size less than 0.1 µm). In some embodiments, a lower (or base) portion of the cathode material layer is composed of particles whose particle size is greater than the nanoparticles that form the upper portion of the cathode material layer. In other embodiments, the entirety of the cathode material layer is composed of the nanoparticles. In either embodiment, a conformal layer of a dielectric material can be disposed on a topmost surface of the upper portion of the cathode material layer. The presence of the conformal layer of dielectric material can further improve the smoothness of the cathode material layer.

    Abstract: Technical solutions are described for a load-store unit (LSU) that executes a plurality of instructions in an out-of-order (OoO) window using multiple LSU pipes. The execution includes selecting an instruction from the OoO window, the instruction using an effective address; and if the instruction is a load instruction: and if the processing unit is operating in single thread mode, creating an entry in a first partition of a load reorder queue (LRQ) if the instruction is issued on a first load pipe, and creating the entry in a second partition of the LRQ if the instruction is issued on a second load pipe.     Abstract: Training data including a first and second group of questions each associated with an answer is read into memory by a computer. A class of answers including the answer to a question for each question is determined, where each class ofanswers has a class label that is associated with each of the questions, and each of the questions are classified into a respective class of answers, accordingly. First and second training data is generated including the first and second groups of questions and corresponding classes of answers for use in first and second classifiers, respectively. Each question of the first and second group of questions is classified by the second and first classifiers, respectively, where the classifying generates corresponding classification results. The first or second training data is updated based on the classification results to generate corresponding updated first or second training data, respectively.

    Abstract: A method and system for improving tape drive memory storage is provided. The method includes receiving, by a storage tape drive, a data stream for storage. The data stream is passed through a non-volatile memory device (NVS2)of the storage tape drive. The data stream is divided into adjacent variable length data chunks and a chunk list file including similarity identifiers for each of the adjacent variable length data chunks is generated and stored within a (non-volatile memory device) NVS1. Duplicate data including duplicated data with respect to a group of data chunks of the adjacent variable length data chunks is identified and deleted from the NVS2 of the storage tape drive such that the group of data chunks remains within NVS2. The group of data chunks is written to a data storage tape cartridge. Pointers identifying each data chunk and an associated storage position are generated and stored.
