Abstract:
A steel cord consisting of very fine steel wires twisted together and used as a reinforcing material in rubber products, especially vehicle tyres. The steel contains, in weight percentages:
C : 0.60 - 0.90 Si : 0.15 - 0.35 Mn : 0.30 - 0.90 Cu : 0.10 - 0.50 and/or V : 0.05 - 1.00 remainder Fe.
Abstract:
Novel polyethylene multifilament yarn having high strength and high modulus and being substantially free from cohesion between single yarns is provided by a novel process which comprises employing a dry-wet spinning or gel-wet spinning method, drying single yarns containing an extractant separately from each other by vibrating them using a turbulent air flow, and heat-treating them under tension at temperatures in a specific range before drawing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aramid textile cord (50) having an at least triple twist (T1, T2, T3), comprising at least N strands (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d), where N is greater than 1, which strands are twisted together to a final twist T3 in a final direction D2, each strand being made up of M pre-strands (10a, 10b, 10c), where M is greater than 1, which pre-strands are in turn twisted to an intermediate twist T2 (T2a, T2b, T2c, T2d) in an intermediate direction D1 which is opposite to D2, with every pre-strand consisting of a spun fibre (5) that has been twisted on itself to an initial twist T1 (T1a, T1b, T1c) in the direction D1, wherein at least half the N times M spun fibres are spun aramid fibres. The textile cord can advantageously be used as reinforcement in vehicle pneumatic tires, especially in the belt or the carcass ply of said pneumatic tires.
Abstract:
Provided are a rubber article reinforcing steel wire that is superior in bending fatigue properties to the related art and has a flat cross-sectional shape, and a rubber article using the wire. In a rubber article reinforcing steel wire 10, a major diameter and a minor diameter are substantially perpendicular to each other. Assuming that the major diameter is W, the minor diameter is T, a straight line that passes through a center of the major diameter in a width direction and is parallel to a minor diameter direction is L1, a straight line that passes through a center of the minor diameter in a width direction and is parallel to a major diameter direction is L2, an intersection point of the L1 and the L2 is a center point C, a region within a half of a distance from the center point C to a surface is a central region Rc, and a region outside the central region Rc is a surface layer region Rs, a Vickers hardness Hvc of the central region Rc is more than a Vickers hardness Hvs of the surface layer region Rs; and assuming that a Vickers hardness on the L1 in the surface layer region Rs is Hv1, and a Vickers hardness on the L2 in the surface layer region Rs is Hv2, relationships represented by Hvc - Hv1 ‰¤ 150, Hvc - Hv2 ‰¤ 150, Hv1/Hvc × 100 ‰¥ 85.11, and Hv2/Hvc × 100 ‰¥ 79.84 are satisfied.
Abstract:
An elongated steel element (12) with a martensite, tempered martensite, bainite or sorbite structure has a polymer coating (16) with a thickness lower than 20 μm immediately upon the elongated steel element (14). The friction coefficient and corrosion resistance are both improved by the polymer coating at a lower cost.
Abstract:
A rope (40) comprising a plurality of bundle groups (41), each of said bundle groups having a periphery and comprising a plurality of high strength fibers, at least one low coefficient of friction fiber (42) disposed around at least a portion of the periphery of at least one of the bundle groups.
