Abstract:
A multimedia transceiver apparatus continuously generates a model of a video scene, and then uses the generated model to estimate missing sections (e.g., image frames) of the video stream by morphing and/or modifying available uncorrupted video data based on the model. By estimating the missing sections, the subjective quality of video under error conditions (e.g., image frame loss, image frame corruption, video signal interruption, etc.) is improved.
Abstract:
An access point (AP) and a terminal and corresponding methods are provided configured to retransmit a multicast packet based on feedback in a network. The network includes the AP and terminals. The communication method of the AP includes transmitting coded packet based multicast packets to the terminals, receiving, from a terminal, a feedback message indicating whether the multicast packets are received in response to the transmission, and retransmitting at least one multicast packet to the terminal in response to the feedback message.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for processing data received at a user equipment comprises determining a protocol data unit (PDU)-specific Layer 1 decoding metric of a Layer 1 decoded PDU. The methods and apparatus further comprises determining whether to perform a Layer 2 decoding of the Layer 1 decoded PDU based on the PDU-specific Layer 1 decoding metric.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for reducing power consumption of a receiver by performing a Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) according to a detected decoding error are provided. The apparatus includes a decoding reliability metric generator for setting a decoding result as a decoding reliability metric, which is a reference value for determining a code block having a decoding error, based on a decoding result, a decoding reliability metric buffer for storing the decoding reliability metric set by the decoding reliability metric generator and a code block controller for, when the decoding error occurs, identifying code blocks having the decoding error by checking the decoding reliability metric and for controlling to decode the identified code blocks.
Abstract:
The disclosure is related to selectively patching frame erasures in a first stream. A receiver receives the first stream, receives a second stream corresponding to the first stream, detects a missing frame in the first stream, and attempts to replace the missing frame in the first stream with a corresponding frame from the second stream.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving in a communication terminal a signal, which is transmitted in multiple links and which includes a control channel transmitted in an assigned sequence of the links. One or more candidate sequences of the links, which are likely to be the assigned sequence, are identified. For at least, one candidate sequence, a verification is made whether the candidate sequence is the assigned sequence, by re-encoding decoded bits of the candidate sequence to produce regenerated symbols and comparing the regenerated symbols to respective received symbols from which the decoded bits were decoded. The control channel is decoded from the candidate sequence in response to verifying that the candidate sequence is the assigned sequence.
Abstract:
A base station apparatus capable of communicating with a user equipment terminal using a downlink shared channel is disclosed. The base station apparatus includes a radio resource allocation unit allocating radio resource blocks to the shared channel after allocating the radio resource blocks to at least one of a synchronization signal, a common control channel, a broadcast channel, a paging channel, an MBMS channel, and a random access response channel.
Abstract:
A method and arrangement for estimating the current channel quality for a data transfer in a mobile network. In a sending system entity, a channel quality estimate (CQE) associated with a data transfer to a receiving system entity in a mobile communication network is adjusted. One or more probing packets are communicated 400 between the sending system entity and the receiving system entity, each probing packet being formatted according to a predefined combination of transmission parameters. Furthermore, is a Channel State Information (CSI) report received 404 from the receiving system entity, and the CQE is adjusted 406 based on the CSI report and which probing packets have been successfully communicated. By sending a sequence of probing packets, each formatted according to a predefined combination of transmission parameters, and not waiting for each packet to be acknowledged, a fast and accurate estimation of the current channel quality is achieved.
Abstract:
A method of data classification for use in a wireless communication system includes obtaining decoder metrics from a decoder. The decoder metrics correspond to data generated by the decoder. The decoder metrics include a first metric and a second metric. The method also includes classifying the data into a first category if the data fails an error detection check, into a second category if the data passes the error detection check and is determined to be unreliable, or into a third category if the data passes the error detection check and is determined to be reliable. A reliability of the data is determined based on at least one of the decoder metrics and a threshold.
Abstract:
A method, system, network and device provide Smart Grid Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) detection. One or more symbols or chips present in one or more received radio frequency signals are detected and the presence of one or more erred symbols or chips in the detected one or more symbols present in the received one or more radio frequency signals determined. A correlation in time between the one or more erred symbols or chips and an infrastructure waveform associated with electrical infrastructure can be determined. When the determined correlation indicates the electrical infrastructure as a source of detectable radio frequency interference to a device, a pattern flag is generated. The pattern flag or pattern flag representation can be stored and/or transmitted.
