Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide main apparatus capable of continuing to provide users with services concerning call transmission and reception without regulating the services even in the event of system congestions and of contributing to quick recovery from the congestion state to a steady state. SOLUTION: A button telephone set T1 belongs to a group which is registered such that a line 1 is used when a congestion level in main apparatus 1 is equal to or higher than a given level, that is, the main apparatus 1 is in a congestion state, as a result of monitoring of congestion state of the main apparatus 1. The monitoring is performed by a congestion state monitoring unit 14. When a call is transmitted by the button telephone set T1 using the line 1, a call control processing unit 13 transmits a control signal required for a LED control only to the telephone set T1 and suspends the transmission of the control signal to button telephone sets T2 and T3 belonging to the same group. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a method, and a program for managing applications on a remote communication unit, such as a portable telephone on a radio communication network. SOLUTION: A server 112 on a radio network 100 stores application threshold value event data, limits access to a service side application, updates the application, and manages a communication device resident application, which records the occurrence of a threshold value event to other application users, through a device interaction. Abstract:
During a telephone call between a telephone user and an interactive response system, the user is enabled to use only his voice and key presses on a numeric keypad of his telephone to interactively specify information that can be used to control delivery of content to a visual display of, or a storage medium accessible by, a target telephone which may be a land-line phone, a mobile phone, or some other device acting as a telecommunications device. The target telephone has a visual display or a memory to display or store the delivered content, which may include ringtones, text messages, games, wallpapers, ring-back tones, video clips, web pages, applications, or links to information. The user is enabled to engage in an interaction with the response system that is representative of an interaction between the user and a server connected to the Internet. On behalf of the user, a separate interaction is conducted with the server through the Internet based on the representative interaction. Information is received that can be used to identify the user and the target device. Based on the received information, user authentication information is transmitted to the user, the authentication information is received from the user, and the user is allowed to access a service.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method to enhance call center support for mobile communications devices. SOLUTION: The method for providing the call center support to a mobile communications device includes (1) a step of establishing voice and data connectivity between a mobile communications device having a visual display and a call center communications device having a visual display; and (2) a step of causing an entirety of an image appearing on the visual display of the mobile communications device to be replicated on the visual display of the call center communications device. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for notifying a call rejection message capable of providing proper information to a calling user when a called party cannot reply an incoming call. SOLUTION: A called telephone terminal stores a plurality of notice messages used for call rejections as data, accepts the selection of any notice message among the notice messages upon the receipt of a call signal, transmits a message signal denoting the one notice message to a calling telephone terminal, and when the calling telephone terminal receives the message signal, a display apparatus displays the notice message denoted by the received message signal. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real-time interactive directory system. SOLUTION: The interactive directory provided for a workstation having a connected video monitor and adapted for network access has an interactive display for displaying status for individual entities, being persons and organizations. The entities are listed in the display along with the status for each of the entities. There may be multiple fields for status and some fields display telephone numbers, while others may provide alphanumeric display. A remote access contact address is stored and associated with each directory entity and when the directory is active, the workstation accesses status information from network sources associated with individual directory listings. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coordinating the presentation of speech signals and screen images to a receiver of a call, without some of the costs, disadvantages, and limitations of techniques in the prior art. SOLUTION: The illustrative embodiment of the present invention builds upon the infrastructure of the Session Initiation Protocol (or "SIP") to distribute and transfer calls to agents who are associated with a call center or contact center system. A server-based system is used in conjunction with call distribution based on the SIP to replace some desktop and agent computer/telephony integration arrangements, thereby providing first-party call control. Customer-related information is embedded in the call transfer itself; as a result, the display of the customer-related information occurs at an agent's telecommunications terminal at the same time the call arrives.
