Abstract:
Disclosed are an interactive system and method of controlling the same for achieving a task more efficiently. Items of data to be searched are stored in a memory ( 107 ) in a form classified according to prescribed classes, and a dialog controller ( 102 ) decides the order in which questions are presented to a user in order to narrow down the object of a search to data in a specific class. The questions are then presented to the user in the decided order by a question generator ( 103 ).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify a telephonic communication component with a data server component. SOLUTION: This system can facilitate telephonically accessing rich information in the server (e.g., messaging server). This rich information can include e-mail content, calendar content, contacts information, or the like. Moreover. with access to an application programming interface, the invention can add functionality to initiate e-mail communications as well as to accept or cancel meetings. Furthermore, the invention can synchronize messages of disparate formats. By way of example, a user can set an "Out of Office" (OOF) status on both an e-mail system and a telephone voice-mail system from one location in one action. In another aspect, it will be appreciated that any message or data component can be analyzed, transformed, matched and/or communicated from one system to another in accordance with the subject invention. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deliver a business message with high quality voice or image data and the like with superior feeling of operation in an IP telephone system if the call termination side does not respond. SOLUTION: A partner's terminal is called by a communication unit 112 according to IP telephone protocol, and if it is determined that the called partner's terminal does not respond from the IP telephone protocol, the user's voice (or image) data is stored as an incomming message by using a receiver and the like of the user's communication unit 114. Then, the incoming message data is transmitted to a mail address of the partner's terminal, which is obtained through IP telephone protocol, by using the electronic mail protocol. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device that provides extended services. SOLUTION: A POTS interface system receives analog voice signals for a call, when in operation. The POTS interface system converts the analog voice signals from analog to digital to generate digital voice signals. A processing system performs an application on the digital voice signals to provide at least one presentation format of the digital voice signals of the call to a user. A conversion system then converts the digital voice signals into analog voice signals, and a voice interface system transmits audible signals to the user. A digital interface system receives digital data signals from a data service provider, and the processing system performs an application on the digital data signals to provide additional data to the user. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a network subscriber to remotely control receiving and sending of wireless and wire line voice messages and text messages. SOLUTION: A network is operated as an interface between various wireless networks and wire line networks and performs medium conversion as needed, subscriber's message receiving and sending options are held in a database, and the subscriber accesses the data base by a wireless or wire line communication to update the option programmed in the data base so that the subscriber controls a voice call in real-time while using a wireless data terminal or a PDA. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instant messaging(IM) service by which telephony users and on-line users can make communication with each other. SOLUTION: The on-line user provides and receives textual messages, where the telephony user provides and receives corresponding audible messages. These messages convey emotion using associate emotional indicia, such as emotions, or other emotional indicia, including the use of capitalization, emphasis, and the like. Emotional indicia provided in the text messages from the on-line user are audibly conveyed to the telephony user. Similarly, emotional indicia provided by the telephony user in the form of actual emotions or commands are provided in text to the on-like user. Thus, transmission of an instant message is facilitated between audible and text base communications.
