Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate an adhesion of a product to a device by preheating fibers and a matrix polymer to a temperature above a melting point or softening point of the polymer and below a melting point of the fiber and then effecting a molding step using the device the temperature of which is below the melting point or softening point of the polymer. CONSTITUTION: Polyalkene fibers with a tensile strength of at least 2 Gpa and a modulus of at least 60 Gpa are preheated by a hot air or emitting, for example, an infrared ray to a wind fiber texture or package coupled to a matrix polymer. Its heating temperature is below a melting point of the polyalkene fibers and above a melting point or softening point of the polymer. The preheated texture is molded by using a compression mold a temperature of which is below the melting point or softening point of the polymer. For example, a package 3 is placed on the mold 1, and the mold is brought into contact in the mold 2. A package is cooled in the closed mold to obtain an acoustic diaphragm having a homogeneous texture.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To enhance the barrier properties of an obtained molding compd. by constituting a granulated material of granules in which a specific amt. of electrically conductive fiber bundles are incorporated in a specific dispersing degree. CONSTITUTION: A plastic granulated material comprises granules in which 0.3-4 vol.% electrically conductive fiber bundles are incorporated in a dispersing degree of 0.10 or less. The dispersing degree is a reciprocal value of the vol. ratio (%) of granules occupied by electrically conductive fiber bundles containing 60-20,000 fibers and measured by a threshold value method. The selected threshold value is determined by the amt. of fibers present per a surface area of 1 mm and must be a value such that the area covered with fibers cut in a value cross section is at least 5% of the whole of the surface. The fibers have a length of 4-8 mm for example and impregnated with a resin. The plastic material is usually a thermoplastic polymer compsn. When this plastic granulated material is used, the clogging of an extruder is avoided and, in spite of a low dispersing degree, that is, the slight distribution of fibers in granules, this material is suitable for forming a molding compd. having excellent barrier properties by processing.
