A swash plate type compressor is arranged with a plurality of semispherical shoes and a disc shaped swash plate. A resin coating having a honeycomb structure is formed on a surface and a rear surface (sliding surface) of the swatch plate which slides with the shoe. An edge part (top end) of each of the multiple cylinder bodies which forms the resin coating layer are at the same plane and forms a sliding surface which slides with the shoe. In addition, an interior space of each cylinder body forms a storage part of a lubricant and a container part for foreign objects.The swash plate can be provided with excellent wear resistance, seizure resistance and lubrication retention.

There are provided a self-lubricating composite material capable of obtaining a necessary strength at a mixing ratio of a solid lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) of 60 mass % or greater; and a rolling bearing, a linear motion device, a ball screw device, a linear motion guide device, and a transport device using the same. To that end, a self-lubricating composite material which is material used in a solid-lubricant spacer (6) of a rolling bearing (1) contains 60 mass % to 80 mass % of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and a balance containing iron (Fe).

Methods of ex situ synthesis of graphene, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, other graphene derivative structures and nanoparticles useful as polishing agents are disclosed. Compositions and methods for polishing, hardening, protecting, adding longevity to, and lubricating moving and stationary parts in devices and systems, including, but not limited to, engines, turbos, turbines, tracks, races, wheels, bearings, gear systems, armor, heat shields, and other physical and mechanical systems employing machined interacting hard surfaces through the use of nano-polishing agents formed in situ from lubricating compositions and, in some cases, ex situ and their various uses are also disclosed.

[Problem] To exchange the roller bearing that has been used in a scroll compressor mounted in an automobile with a m slide bearing. To provide a slide bearing having a performance that is at least equivalent to that of a roller bearing.[Solution] The slide bearing results from baking onto a back metal a sliding layer of 5-60 wt % graphite having an average diameter of 5-50 μm and a graphitization degree of at least 0.6, the remainder comprising a polyimide resin and/or a polyamide-imide resin. The form of the graphite has: (a) an average shape factor (YAVE) as defined of 1-4 for the particles excluding the minute particles that are no greater than 0.5 times the average diameter, and there being at least 70% by number of particles having a shape factor (Y) in the range of 1-1.5; or (b) graphite particles having a particle ratio of at least 0.5 being at least 50% of the total by number.

This invention relates to carbon-based materials as anti-friction and anti-wear additives for advanced lubrication purposes. The materials comprise carbon nanotubes suspended in a liquid hydrocarbon carrier. Optionally, the compositions further comprise a surfactant (e.g., to aid in dispersion of the carbon particles). Specifically, the novel lubricants have the ability to significantly lower friction and wear, which translates into improved fuel economies and longer durability of mechanical devices and engines.

Disclosed herein is a lubrication device comprising a solid lubricant disposed between and in contact with a first electrode and a second electrode dimensioned and arranged such that application of an electric potential between the first electrode and the second electrode sufficient to produce an electric arc between the first electrode and the second electrode to produce a plasma in an ambient atmosphere at an ambient pressure which vaporizes at least a portion of the solid lubricant to produce a vapor stream comprising the solid lubricant. Methods to lubricate a surface utilizing the lubrication device in-situ are also disclosed.

A lubricating oil composition for refrigerators comprising a base oil which comprises as a main component a polyol ester compound obtained from a polyhydric alcohol selected from among pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol, trimethylolpropane, and neopentyl glycol and a C4 to C20 aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and which has an acid value of 0.02 mgKOH/g or less and a hydroxyl value of 5 mgKOH/g or less. A compressor using the lubricating composition. The lubricating oil composition is applicable to such refrigerators that use a refrigerant having a specific structure, such as an unsaturated fluorinated hydrocarbon compound, and being usable in current car air conditioner systems, and has excellent compatibility with the refrigerant, good sealing properties, capability of imparting a low coefficient of friction to sliding members and, yet, excellent stability. The compressor uses the lubricating composition.

In an electrical machine having a roller bearing, whose inner ring is seated on the rotor shaft of the electrical machine, whose outer ring is seated in a housing and which is located in a closed area, the roller bearing is intended to be protected against electrical breakdowns. For this purpose, the area contains a liquid on an aqueous basis, whose level overhangs the external contour of the inner ring at its lowest point. The inner ring and the outer ring are therefore conductively connected and the voltage can be equalized between the rotor and the housing of the electrical machine, without any impediment and without breakdowns. In an application as a geared motor, the lubricant for the gearbox is also a liquid on an aqueous basis.

A method and composition for producing a monolithic hybrid composite consisting of a composite matrix, a reinforcement phase, and a solid/self-lubrication phase. The composition may comprise a graphite (“C”) phase and a titanium carbide (“TiC”) phase in a nickel (“Ni”) matrix. The process may include the step of blending pure Ni and pure titanium (“Ti”) powders with Ni-coated graphite powder using Laser Engineered Net Shaping (“LENS”). The present invention provides a refrigerator oil composition which satisfies both sludge dispersibility and prevention of wear and seizing of sliding parts made of aluminum and/or iron, and a compressor and a refrigeration apparatus using the refrigerator oil composition. The refrigerator oil composition is characterized by comprising a base oil which is at least one member selected from mineral oils and synthetic oils, and at least one polyamide compound having two or more amide groups in the molecule and being present in an amount of 0.01 to 5% by mass based on the total amount of the refrigerator oil composition.
