PCT No. PCT/DE96/00344 Sec. 371 Date Aug. 25, 1997 Sec. 102(e) Date Aug. 25, 1997 PCT Filed Feb. 23, 1996 PCT Pub. No. WO96/26793 PCT Pub. Date Sep. 6, 1996In accordance with the method according to the invention, for the production of the plastics overlay, first of all a paste is made of a plastics dispersion and fillers. This paste is free of organic solvents and is applied to a sintered porous metal layer. The multilayer material thus produced is then sintered. Since the use of organic solvents is dispensed with, health risks and the risk of fire are reduced. Moreover, the composite materials produced according to the invention exhibit excellent cavitation resistance. In addition to conventional lubricant-free applications, such as bearings, these composite materials may consequently be used in particular in gear pumps and shock absorbers.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seizure-preventing agent applicable to a metallic part having possibility to be exposed to a high temperature of ≥500°C without using a metal such as copper, aluminum and nickel, and boron nitride; and to provide a sensor with the seizure-preventing agent applied thereto. SOLUTION: The seizure-preventing agent contains a first solid lubricant comprising one or more of bismuth and a bismuth compound, and a second lubricant comprising one or more of graphite, molybdenum disulfide and boron nitride, regulated so that the content (a) of the first solid lubricant and the content (d) of the second solid lubricant may satisfy the relations: 20 mass%≤(a)≤90 mass%, and 10 mass%≤(d)≤80 mass% with the proviso that the total of the first solid lubricant and the second solid lubricant is 100 mass%. Abstract:
The retainer of the present invention is made of a composite material having a body made from a polymer, a layer of solid lubricant formed over the body by chemically coating the body with a porous layer of solid lubricant and impregnating the solid lubricant with another lubricant using conventional methods such as vacuum impregnation. The retainer is placed between an outer raceway and an inner raceway to form a self-lubricating bearing. The bearing made in this manner has high lubrication tolerance (i.e. it performs well in the absence of external lubrication). Because of its high lubrication tolerance, the bearing is suitable for use in various applications such as dental/medical hand pieces that are periodically sterilized and other applications which occasionally experience periods of lubrication starvation.
Abstract:
Provided is a sliding member (1) comprising: a steel back metal layer (2); and a sliding layer (3) including a porous sintered layer (4) and a resin composition (5). The porous sintered layer (4) includes Fe or Fe alloy granules (6) and a Ni-P alloy part (7) for binding the granules (6) with one another and/or for binding the granules (6) with the steel back metal layer. The steel back metal layer (2) is made of a carbon steel including 0.05 to 0.3 mass% carbon, and includes: a non-austenite-containing portion (2A) having a structure of a ferrite phase (9) and perlite (10) formed in a central portion in a thickness direction of the steel back metal layer; and an austenite-containing portion (8) having a structure of a ferrite phase, perlite and an austenite phase (11) formed in a surface portion of the back metal layer facing the sliding layer.
Abstract:
An article comprises a substrate; a coating comprising a carbon composite; and a binding layer disposed between the substrate and the coating. The carbon composite comprises carbon and a binder containing one or more of the following: SiO2; Si; B; B2O3; a metal; or an alloy of the metal; and the metal comprises one or more of the following: aluminum; copper; titanium; nickel; tungsten; chromium; iron; manganese; zirconium; hafnium; vanadium; niobium; molybdenum; tin; bismuth; antimony; lead; cadmium; or selenium.
Abstract:
Compositions for lubricants and methods for producing the same using spherical bismuth powder and spherical copper powder particles are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the lubricant includes a base oil, a grease, a copper powder, comprising at least one spherical particle, and a bismuth powder, comprising at least one spherical particle. The lubricant can be used as an engine oil, a gear oil, a grease lubricant, or a spray lubricant. When applying the lubricant to an internal combustible engine, the heat and pressure within the engine compresses the lubricant to infuse the copper and bismuth powder particles to the internal surface of the engine. When used in internal combustible engines, the disclosed lubricants deliver outstanding wear resistance, improve gas mileage, extend interval times needed for oil changes, and also reduce engine exhaust emission.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tricresyl phosphate-free oil, which can be used as lubricant or hydraulic oil. The oil is distinguished by an extremely low human toxicity. In particular, the oil is suitable as a turbine oil, i.e. as a lubricant oil in aircraft turbines with which, in the case of a fume event, can prevent symptoms of the aerotoxic syndrome in flight passengers. In addition, the present invention relates to the corresponding use of the turbine oil according to the invention for prophylaxis of the aerotoxic syndrome in the case of a fume event. The invention additionally describes a turbine which contains a corresponding turbine oil as lubricant. In addition, the method for operating a turbine is cited.
Abstract:
The disclosure generally relates to a wear resistant turbine fan blade having a composite lubricated sheet adhered to a root of the turbine fan blade and having improved tribological properties at high temperatures.
