A metal-working water or a metal-working composition which has excellent cooling and lubricating properties and does not exert a harmful influence on the environment. A metal-working water containing sodium ion and one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of fluoride ion, hydrogencarbonate ion and silicon and being adjusted to pH 6.0 to pH 10 can be used as a substitute for a conventional cutting oil. A metal-working composition including a metal-working water with such additive as a rust-preventive agent and being adjusted to pH 6.0 to pH 10 can also be used.

Secondary amines having the formula (I): R(Y).sub.s NHX, in which R is a hydrocarbon group having 2-12 carbon atoms, Y is the group --CH(OH)CH.sub.2 --, --OCH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 -- or --O(CH.sub.2).sub.3, X is an alkyl group having 2-3 carbon atoms and substituted with hydroxyl groups in the 2-position or in the 2 - and 3-positions, and s is 0 or 1 with the condition that when s is 0, then X is an alkyl group substituted in the 2- and 3-positions, or a salt thereof, are used as anticorrosion and antimicrobial agents. They are suitable to be incorporated in aqueous, alkaline, industrial fluids. An aqueous, alkaline metal working fluid is also disclosed.

A grease composition for construction equipment comprises a lubricating grease, a) 1 to 5% by weight of phosphate glass and b) 1 to 5% by weight of a sulfur-phosphorus extreme-pressure additive; as well as c) 0.5 to 3% by weight of an aromatic sulfonic acid salt and d) 0.1 to 3% by weight of a triazole compound as optional components based on the total weight of the grease composition. The grease composition exhibits considerably high resistance to load and accordingly, can be applied to construction equipment which require high resistance to load, such as a hydrauric excavator and a wheel loader.

A method of manufacturing a galvanized steel sheet with high press formability, the sheet having an inorganic compound on a metallic galvanized-layer thereof. The method includes the step of effecting a galvanization on a steel sheet followed by an alloying treatment. The sheet of galvanized steel is immersed in a bath of an aqueous solution containing 0.1 wt % or more of borate of an alkali metal, and then taking the steel sheet out of the bath and effecting such control as to make the amount of deposition of the water-containing borate film on the steel sheet surface to range from 10 to 1,000 mg/m.sup.2, and then heating the steel sheet at a temperature ranging from 60.degree. to 400.degree. C. Thereafter, the steel sheet is cooled to a normal temperature.
