Abstract:
A parting compound for green sand molding, which contains hydrocarbon oil as the principal agent and other essential components including a surfactant as a dispersant and an anionic surfactant and/or strongly basic amine as a wettability improver. This compound is used in the form of oil-in-water emulsion by diluting with water. Because of the dilutability with water, this compound can be readily stored and transported in a non-bulky state. Furthermore, the proportion of water can be increased as compared with that of the hydrocarbon oil in the step of applying the compound, thus contributing to resource saving and improvement in the resistance to fire hazard.
Abstract:
A graphite-free lubricating oil which comprises a base oil having dispersed therein 10 to 40% by weight of a carbohydrate and/or a derivative thereof whose particle size ranges from 10 to 150 µm, 2 to 20% by weight of a film-boosting agent and 0.1 to 20% by weight of a dispersant. Moreover, the lubricating oil is free of black-colored substances such as graphite. Therefore, the oil permits the improvement of working surroundings and exhibits excellent properties such as formability through forging almost comparable to or even greater than that of the commercially available graphite-in-oil type lubricating oils. The lubricating oil can be used instead of the graphite-containing lubricating oils for warm forging, hot forging, rolling, tube-manufacturing, drawing and extrusion in place of the graphite-containing lubricating oils and ensures the improvement in the working surroundings and excellent lubricity.
Abstract:
Fluids for hydraulic breaks are described which have a content in boron of from 0% to 1% by weight and essentially consist of: (a) an alkylenglycol; (b) alkylenglycol monoalkylether; (c) a polyalkylenglycol monoalkylether of the general formula: RO &lparstr& CHR min CH2O &rparstr& nH wherein: R = C1-C4 alkyl; R min = H, CH3; n = an integer which confers onto the compound a molecular weight comprised between 208 and 1000; and possibly (d) the reaction product of (a) with a boron compound. They display excellent characteristics, in particular high boiling points under wet conditions, and low viscosities at low temperatures.

Abstract:
The title lubricant composition comprises a base oil or base grease and a specified amount of a heat insulating agent comprising (A) an inorganic compound undergoing endothermic melting at temperatures of 1200 DEG C or below and (B) an inorganic powder which neither melts nor decomposes at temperatures of 1200 DEG C or below and which has a thermal conductivity of 0.01 cal/cm.s. DEG C or less and a friction coefficient of 0.7 or less at room temperature added alone or as a combination. This lubricant composition has an excellent heat-insulating effect and is effective in preventing occurrence of thermal crown of working rolls.
