Abstract:
A connector is used to connect a gases supply to a user. The user can be fitted with an interface, such as a cannula, while the gases supply can include a conduit. The connector interfaces between the conduit and the interface. The connector has a female assembly and a male assembly that connect together, such as by push fit. The male assembly includes an inner portion sized and configured to mate with a first female connector and an outer portion sized and configured to alternatively mate with a second female connector.
Abstract:
A ferrule coupling is easy to mount onto members to be coupled such as pipe conduits and apparatuses and can reliably maintain the sealability even when subjected to temperature rises and falls due to a sterilization process etc. A ferrule coupling has an annular male screw member which is provided on one of members to be coupled and has a thread formed on the outer peripheral surface, and an annular female screw member which is provided on the other of the members to be coupled and has a thread formed on the inner peripheral surface. The male screw member and the female screw member are screw-engaged with each other to thereby couple the members to be coupled with each other. The male screw member has a cut section at one part in the circumferential direction, and can be opened or closed such that the cut section widens or narrows.

Abstract:
A reusable aseptic connector is provided. The connector may be used to provide fluid communication between a bag-in-box (BIB) container and a beverage dispenser. The connector may provide aseptic properties of the connection by insulation of an inner volume of a first part and an inner volume of a second part, with the beverage component kept from contacting any of the part of the connector structure that are exposed to the environment and have a risk of induced contamination. The connector may comprise a resilient membrane and a sliding tube wherein the sliding tube is configured to have a portion move toward and through the resilient membrane to establish fluid communication between the first part and the second part, and for the portion to move away from the resilient membrane to destablish fluid communication between the first part and the second part when desired.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a An aseptic connector comprising a first connection unit (102; 202; 302; 402; 502) provided with a first terminal end surface (104; 204; 304; 404; 504) and a second connection unit (106; 206; 306; 406; 506) provided with a second terminal end surface (108; 208; 308; 408; 508); said first and second terminal end surfaces are each provided with at least one first and second opening (110, 112; 210, 212; 310, 312; 410, 412; 510, 512), which openings are orientated to substantially coincide when said first and second connection units are connected to each other; said first and second openings are sealed by at least one film (114; 214; 314; 414; 514) arranged on said first and second connection units, so that the contact between the film and each connection unit is aseptic; said at least one film is adapted to be mated with a corresponding film on the other connection unit when said first and second connection units are connected to each other; and said mated films are adapted to be pulled out together two and two after mating such that corresponding first and second openings in said first and second terminal end surfaces are mated aseptically. At least two first ports (116; 216; 316; 416; 516) are arranged on the first connection unit, which first ports have fluid connection with the at least one first opening (110; 210; 310; 410; 510) in the first terminal end surface; and in that at least one second port (118; 218; 318; 418; 518) is arranged on the second connection unit, which the at least one second port has a fluid connection with the at least one second opening (112; 212; 312; 412; 512) in the second terminal end surface.
Abstract:
A method of making a sterile connection comprises mating a first fitting having an aperture and a second fitting having an aperture, removing first and second strip out layers from between the end surfaces of sealed first and second resilient sealing members, and contacting the end surfaces of the resilient sealing members to provide fluid communication between the aperture of the first fitting and the aperture of the second fitting. A connector assembly comprises first and second fittings, a stem mounted for axial movement through the first fitting into the second fitting, and a deformable locking device which selectively prevents axial movement of the stem in the first fitting.
