    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the dimension, especially thickness dimension, of a housing of an apparatus from being affected by the dimension of a modular jack.SOLUTION: This apparatus has a modular jack 10 for detachably attaching a modular plug 50. The thickness t of a modular jack mounting part 21 of the apparatus A is shorter than the height dimension H of the modular jack 10 and is shorter than or equivalent to the length dimension L of the modular jack 10. The modular jack 10 is mounted on the mounting part 21 slidably between a fallen attitude and an upright attitude. The modular jack 10 and the modular plug 50 are connected through an operation of sliding one of the modular plug 50 and the modular jack 10 in the upright attitude in which the modular plug 50 is inserted, to the other in the insertion direction. The modular jack 10 has an RJ-45 format as an Ethernet connecting terminal.
