    Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement (1) and a method in a receiver in a multi-mode mobile radio (m), wherein the intention is to design the receiver so that it uses the same hardware to process several different channel bandwidths corresponding to the different networks used by the radio (m). This is done by changing a sampling frequency (fs) which controls a digital filter unit (25) situated in the digital part of the receiver. The changing of the sampling frequency (fs) results in that the bandwidth of the digital filter unit (25) is scaled accordingly, wherein the desired channel bandwidth at baseband of the radio network (GSM1900, AMPS) to be used by the radio (m) is selected in the digital filter unit (25). As a complement, the digital filter unit (25) can be implemented with a programmable function, where a change of parameters and/or filter structure inside the digital filter unit (25) can be used to adjust the filter bandwidth.

    Abstract: A dielectric resonator includes a slot line constructed by providing an electrode 2 having a spiral slot either on an external face or inside a dielectric layer 1. A shielding conductor 3 is positioned at a predetermined distance from the electrode. One end of the slot is short-circuited, while the other is open. Preferably, the width of the slot line is greater at the short-circuit end. A rectangular spiral may also be used (see figure 9A). The spiral configuration reduces skin effect conductor loss. The basic resonant line arrangement may be used to construct inductors (see figure 6A), capacitors (see figure 6B), filters (see figures 4, 5), oscillators (see figure 10) and duplexers (see figure 20).

    Abstract: A dielectric resonator comprises a dielectric plate 3 with electrodes 1 on both main sides, with circular openings 4a, 4b in the electrodes which form resonator sections. The characteristics of the resonator may be changed either by placing dielectric chips 21a-e on the plate, or by embedding parts 23a-e with a different dielectric constant to the plate within it (figure 13B). Chips or parts may be placed on or in the resonator sections to adjust resonant frequency of the section. Additionally, chips 21c or parts may be positioned between adjacent resonator sections to adjust the coupling factor between them. Embedded parts 23 may comprise air, and may extend through the plate (see figure 14B). The resonator may be used in constructing dielectric filters, oscillators (see figure 17), sharing devices (see figure 15) and other communication devices (see figure 16).
