Abstract:
The invention relates to a filter device for purifying fluids, especially fuels, that are contaminated with organic substances. Said filter device is characterised in that hydroxyl radicals are formed from water molecules contained in the fluids, by means of a separating device (10, 14, 22), said hydroxyl radicals oxidising the impurities, especially organic substances, as much as possible, and converting them into compounds such as CO2.
Abstract:
A lubricating oil re-refining system and process provide a highly efficient and environmentally sound alternative for reclaiming and reusing spent oils. The re-refining process advantageously removes the additives, water, wear metals and other contaminants from the used lubricating oil, while at the same time, returns the base oil fraction that once again can be blended with additives and can be restored to its original high quality specifications for reuse without causing secondary pollution.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, the present disclosure describes methods for removing impurities from a hydrocarbon stream containing at least one vinyl aromatic compound such as, for example, styrene. The methods include pretreating at least one sorbent to make the at least one sorbent operable for adsorbing the impurities, contacting the hydrocarbon stream with the at least one sorbent in order to adsorb at least a portion of the impurities and separating the hydrocarbon stream from the at least one sorbent. Impurities include, for example, colored impurities, sulfur-containing impurities and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
A regeneration circuit for the in situ regeneration of an inline adsorbent filter, said filter being part of a normal circuit that is configured to remove one or more contaminant from a fluid circulated through a machine; the regeneration circuit includes a regeneration unit configured to remove one or more contaminant from a contaminated fluid creating a regenerated fluid, such that in operation the regenerated fluid is pumped from the regeneration unit and through the filter extracting the or each contaminant from the filter creating the contaminated fluid, this contaminated fluid then returns to the regeneration unit for contaminant removal, the pressure and flow rate of the regenerated fluid through the filter are maintained at a level that ensures minimal damage to the filter; said machine is isolated from the inline filter during regeneration.

Abstract:
There is described a process for producing biodiesel and related products from mixtures. There is also described a process for producing precursors and feedstock materials for producing biodiesel and related products. The processes use esterification and trans-esterification, separation and purification. Other process steps such as acidification and distillation can also be used.
Abstract:
The present invention provides A process for preparing Fischer-Tropsch gasoil fraction, comprising: a) providing a Fischer-Tropsch-derived gasoil feedstock containing one or more contaminants; b) providing the Fischer-Tropsch-derived gasoil feedstock to a pretreatment zone to be pretreated to remove at least part of the one or more contaminants in the Fischer-Tropsch-derived gasoil feedstock; c) retrieving from the pretreatment zone a purified Fischer-Tropsch gasoil, which purified Fischer-Tropsch gasoil is contaminant-depleted with respect to the Fischer-Tropsch-derived gasoil feedstock; and d) providing the purified Fischer-Tropsch gasoil to fractionation zone and fractionating the purified Fischer-Tropsch gasoil into two or more high purity Fischer-Tropsch gasoil fractions. The invention further provides for the use of the purified Fischer-Tropsch gasoil fraction.
