Abstract:
A device is provided for ensuring the sterile integrity of two separate fluid pathways during interconnection of the two pathways with a two-part connector assembly. The two-part connector assembly is of the type which comprises a male portion and a female portion, each portion initially having a port covered and protected by a peel-away strip. The device comprises a base assembly, a connector clamp assembly mounted to the base assembly and configured for securing the two-part connector assembly in position for interconnection of the male and female portions, and a strip withdrawal assembly mounted to the base assembly and configured for simultaneous withdrawal of the peel-away strips from the ports of the male and female portions.
Abstract:
A male-female connection device, wherein the male connection device includes a sleeve and a slide that is adapted to occupy, relative to the sleeve, a position in which the slide is advanced in the sleeve, the device also including a tubular film folded back on itself and pressed between the slide and the sleeve. The female connection device includes a sleeve and a slide that is adapted to occupy, relative to the sleeve, a position in which the slide is set back in the sleeve, the device also including a tubular film folded back on itself and pressed between the slide and the sleeve. The male and female connection devices can be engaged within each other.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus are disclosed for forming a sealed communication between conduits or conduit subassemblies, each of which has a wall with an exterior surface, and at least one of the walls includes an electrically conductive portion. The exterior surfaces may be brought into a facing relationship, and each conductive portion is heated sufficiently to sterilize the exterior surfaces of the walls by generating electrical current in the conductive portion, such as by application of a voltage or by induction. An aperture is then provided, as by an aperture-forming member, through the facing walls to provide communication between the conduits or conduit subassemblies.
Abstract:
Apparatus (1) for transferring incoherent or liquid material from a discharge station (S1) to a collection station (S2) is provided with a tubular conduit (6) located between said stations (S1, S2), and a tubular bag (9) for transferring the material from the discharge station (S1) to the collection station (S2); the tubular bag (9) develops longitudinally inside the conduit (6) between the discharge station (S1) and the collection station (S2), and is kept adherent to the conduit (6) likewise an interior coating of same conduit (6) by a pneumatic device (24, 31) which exhibits a suction region distributed along the conduit (6) between two longitudinal ends (7) of same conduit (6).
Abstract:
The male connection device comprises a sleeve (4) and a slide (5) that is adapted to occupy, relative to said sleeve (4), a position in which said slide (5) is advanced in said sleeve (4), said device also comprising a tubular film (6) folded back on itself and pressed between the slide (5) and the sleeve (4).The female connection device comprises a sleeve (40) and a slide (41) that is adapted to occupy, relative to said sleeve (40), a position in which said slide (41) is set back in said sleeve (40), said device also comprising a tubular film (42) folded back on itself and pressed between the slide (41) and the sleeve (40).The male-female connection system comprises such a male connection device (2) and such a female connection device (3) which are provided to be engaged within each other.

Abstract:
A method and a device are provided for contamination-free and/or sterile sealing between two interconnectable connecting elements having opposing openings. Interconnection allows transfer of a fluid between the openings. Sealing elements are arranged on the connecting elements around the openings, and protective films are provided, covering the sealing elements and the openings and adapted to be removed in the final interconnection. The sealing elements are each provided with at least one recess which extends wholly or partly around the associated opening and receives a gas. In use the sealing elements are moved into engagement with each other, interleaved with the protective films, to reduce the volume of the recesses and, thus, increase the pressure of the gas therein. During removal of the protective films, the gas flows out of the recesses to the environment to prevent penetration of contamination into the openings.
Abstract:
A method of making a hose is provided that includes providing a fitting configured to receive a hose liner therethrough and configured to receive a material configured to be bonded to the hose liner. The method includes receiving the material in the fitting, drawing the hose liner through the fitting, and bonding the material to the hose liner such that the hose liner and material are secured to an outer face of the fitting.
Abstract:
A clamping device, constructed as a single piece, yet comprising a plurality of clamp segments, each clamp segment, comprising an arcuate base having an interior side and an exterior side, a first pair of sidewalls extruding radially inward from the interior side of the arcuate base, thereby defining an interior channel, wherein the sidewalls are conformable to a fitting inside the interior channel, a second pair of sidewalls extruding radially outward from the exterior side of the arcuate base, thereby defining an exterior channel, wherein each clamp segment is interconnected with at least one other clamp segment by a hinge; and a cable tie comprising a first end and a second end fastenable to the first end, wherein the cable tie is housed inside the exterior channel of each clamp segment and passed through a first cable guard at the first free end and a second cable guard at the second free end.
Abstract:
A sanitary coupling assembly for mounting on a fluid system includes a female coupler and a male coupler. The female coupler has a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end has a first inner threaded surface defining an opening therein to receive an end of a hose. The proximal end has a second inner threaded surface having a polymer coating. The proximal end is configured to matingly engage a complementary structure located on the male coupler.
