A linear motor (10), a linear compressor (100), a method of controlling a linear compressor (100), a cooling system (20) and a system of controlling a linear compressor (100) to operate a linear compressor (100) in resonance in it's the greatest possible efficiency throughout its operation are described. One of the ways of achieving these objectives is by means of a linear compressor (100) applicable to a cooling system (20), the linear compressor (100) comprising a piston (1) driven by a linear motor (10), the piston (1) having displacement range controlled by means of a controlled voltage (VM), the controlled voltage (VM) having a voltage frequency (φP) applied to the linear motor (10) and adjusted by a processing unit (22), the range of piston (1) displacement being dynamically controlled in function of a variable demand of the cooling system (20), the linear compressor (100) having a resonance frequency, the processing unit (22) adjusting the range of piston (1) displacement, so that the linear compressor (100) will be dynamically kept on resonance throughout the variations in demand of the cooling system (20).
Abstract:
Apparatus are provided for infusion devices and related systems and operating methods. An exemplary system includes a motor, a sensing arrangement coupled to the motor to provide output indicative of a detected characteristic of the motor when the sensing arrangement is enabled, and a module coupled to the sensing arrangement to periodically enable the sensing arrangement while the motor is idle and detect potential unintended motion of the motor based on the output from the sensing arrangement while periodically enabling the sensing arrangement. In some embodiments, the motor includes a rotor configured such that its rotation provides translational displacement of a plunger in a fluid reservoir, and the sensing arrangement includes one or more sensors configured to provide output indicative of a detected magnetic field of the rotor magnet.

A linear compressor is provided. The linear compressor may include a shell having a refrigerant inlet, a cylinder provided within the shell, a piston that reciprocates within the cylinder to compress a refrigerant, a motor assembly that provides a drive force to the piston, a support provided for the magnet assembly, to support an end of a permanent magnet, and a frame engaged with the cylinder to support the motor assembly, and that includes a contact to absorb impact when the piston collides against the support.
Abstract:
A pump system comprises an electric motor, a pump, a converter and a controller. The electric motor has a rotational output shaft that is rotatable in a first rotational direction and an opposite second rotational direction. The pump has a linearly displaceable input shaft that is movable in a first linear direction and an opposite second linear direction. The converter couples the output shaft to the input shaft such that rotation of the output shaft in the first rotational direction translates the input shaft in the first linear direction, and rotation of the output shaft in the second rotational direction translates the input shaft in the second linear direction. The controller repeatedly reverses rotation of the output shaft to produce reciprocating motion of the input shaft.

A linear compressor is provided. The linear compressor includes an electro-magnetic spring and a casing that defines a chamber. A piston is received within the chamber of the casing. The electro-magnetic spring can apply a non-linear force to the piston such that a total spring force applied to the piston during a compression stroke is substantially linear.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a spray gun for the expulsion of a fluid, with at least one cylinder (1) in which a piston (2) is mounted movably, the cylinder (1) having formed in it a fluid chamber (3), the volume of which can be varied by means of a movement of the piston (2) and in which at least one first cylinder orifice (5) is formed, and a spray orifice which is connected to the first cylinder orifice (5) of the cylinder (1) via a connecting line (20), so that a fluid, which is received by the fluid chamber (3) and is pressed out through the first cylinder orifice (5) by the pressure exerted by the piston (2), arrives via the connecting line (20) at the spray orifice and is expelled there. The spray gun according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that a fluid valve (21) is arranged in the connecting line (20), and, in the cylinder (1) a sensor (29) is provided, by means of which a defined position of the piston (2), in which fluid is still located in the fluid chamber (3) during the expulsion operation, can be detected, and by means of which the fluid valve (21) can be actuated, the fluid valve (21) being closed by means of the sensor (29) when the defined position of the piston (2) has been detected. The invention relates, furthermore, to the use of such a spray gun for the expulsion of plant protectants.

The data includes at least one of position, speed, stress and direction of movement of the relative piston.
Abstract:
A reciprocating pump system is utilized. The system facilitates the prediction of failure modes due to degradation of pump components. A sensor system is used to monitor parameters indicative of abnormal events or wear occurring in specific components, such as pump valves. The indications of wear can be used to predict valve failure or other component failure within the reciprocating pump.
