A sliding assist mechanism includes a case (1) attached to one of a main body (7) and a mobile body (A); a latch (4) movably disposed in the case and switched between a standby state in which the latch is locked in the case and a retracted state in which the locking is released; a biasing device (3) for biasing the latches in one direction; and an operation member (8) attached to the other of the main body (7) and the mobile body. When the latch (4) is switched from the standby state to the retracted state, the sliding assist mechanism allows the mobile body to move from a first position to a second position on a main body side through the operation member (8) by biasing force accumulated in the biasing means (3). Essential parts of the mechanism include an engagement portion (42) at a normal time when the latches (4) engage the operation members (8) by interlocking the switching from the standby state to the retracted state, and an auxiliary engagement device (47) releasably engages the operation members (8) when the latch comes to the retracted state in a non-engaged state of the operation member relative to the engagement portion. A repairing structure can be further simplified by such sliding assist mechanism.

A sliding device (13), guided on the ceiling (3) or under the floor (7) of a cabinet (1) with a rail element (19), which allows a sliding door (15) to be synchronously pulled away from the closet (1) in a parallel manner and then slid. In order to also guide the lower edge of the sliding door (15), the motion of the sliding door can be transmitted from the upper edge of the sliding door to the lower edge by a transmission shaft. No cavities or guide grooves have to be formed on the cabinet (1) or the floor (7), ceiling (9), side walls (3), or partition wall (5) thereof.

A drive mechanism for a furniture portion, in particular a drawer or a door which is mounted movably in or to a furniture item, includes a drive device which is guided movably with respect to a base and which is acted upon by a force storage means, a damping device, and a retraction device. The drive device has an ejection element for moving the furniture portion from a closed end position into an open position, and a locking element which is guided by a preferably heart-shaped guide track which is formed on the base. The damping device, the force storage means which acts on the drive device, and the refraction device are connected in series.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device of a sliding type door, capable of suppressing shaking during opening and closing and smoothly sliding a separation type sliding door covering a surface of storage furniture.SOLUTION: The opening and closing device of a sliding type door includes a sliding member 30 for guiding a door 200 moved to left and right along a rail platform 11 mounted on an upper surface and a bottom surface of furniture 1 while alienating it to the front. The sliding member includes a moving section 33 connected with a door by an upper connection frame 20 and a lower connection frame and a guide section 31 for guiding movement in front and back directions of the moving section. An inner surface of the moving section 33 to be in contact with the guide section 31 is turned to an uneven shape to reduce a contact area and frictional resistance is reduced.
