A composition is provided for use as a friction modifier for an automatic transmission, comprising a long chain hydrocarbyl amine having one or two additional groups on one or two different amine nitrogen atom thereof of the structure -R3-C (=0) X (R4) c. R3 is an alkylene group or a group comprising a group of 1-4 carbon atoms or a chain of 2 to 9 carbon atoms interrupted by one or two nitrogen or oxygen atoms within the chain; X is nitrogen or oxygen, and R4 is a long chain hydrocarbyl group, or H, or -R3-NHR5. The compound does not contain a primary amino group.

The invention provides a lubricant composition for generating a combined passivate and lubricating coating on a metal substrate with which the composition is brought into contact. The lubricant composition comprises an organic polymer and/or a wax dispersion; phosphates, preferably acid phosphate salts, and/or phosphoric acid; and optionally, a surfactant, a thickening aid, an anti-wear additive, a defoaming agent; a corrosion inhibitor; and/or a linear or branced hydrocarbon.

Coating systems which provide corrosion resistance and, optionally, lubrication, for threaded connections are disclosed. The compositions comprise a first coating composition 200 comprising polymer matrices of polyimides or epoxies which are modified with small amounts of a fluorine containing polymer. Also present in the coating compositions are corrosion inhibiting agents and inorganic particles having a mean diameter of between approximately 10 nm and 10 µm. Solid lubricants, which may include at least one of PTFE, HDPE, Graphite, and MoS 2 , are optionally added to provide the first coating with a low coefficient of friction. The coating systems may further comprise a second coating composition 202, comprising a solid lubricant dispersed within an epoxy resin and a solvent. The first and second coating compositions 200, 202 are deposited on at least a portion of at least one of the pin and box members 100, 104 of the threaded connections.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Hochtemperatur-Schmierstoff für die Heißverarbeitung von Metallen, bestehend aus einem Gemisch von feinpulverigen Materialien. Um einen Hochtemperatur-Schmierstoff mit gutem Riesel- und Fließverhalten zur Zunderauflösung auf erhitzten Metalloberflächen bereitzustellen, der in Pulverform aufgebracht eine gute Belegung der Metalloberfläche erlaubt und auch nach längerer Lagerung unter Produktionsbedingungen noch gute Riesel- und Fließeigenschaften ohne starke Verklumpung aufweist und der die Verwendung von Graphit vermeidet, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass das Gemisch wenigstens die folgenden Bestandteile a) eine sekundäre und/oder tertiäre Calciumphosphatverbindung, b) eine Fettsäure oder ein Fettsäuresalz, c) Borsäure, ein Borsäuresalz (Borat) und/oder ein Borsäuresalz (Borat) enthaltendes Mineral und d) kondensierte Alkaliphosphate enthält und wobei die Bestandteile des Gemischs eine mittlere Korngröße von 150 µm aufweisen und der Schmierstoff keinen Zusatz von Graphit enthält.

A lubricating grease composition comprising (A)a base oil,(B)5 to 10 wt.% of a urea compound, (C) 0.5 to 20 wt.% of at least one phosphorous compound selected from the group consisting of a phosphoric acid salt etc., and(D)0.5 to 40 wt.% of a fatty acid metal salt. Aforementioned lubricating grease composition allows it to reduce the friction coefficient and prolong the endurance life significantly when it is applied onto surfaces of the sliding pair consisting of metal and plastic (especially glass-fiber-reinforced plastic) parts.
