Abstract: PURPOSE: A dyeing method using Coptis is characterized by having excellent light fastness, not damaging texture of textile, having antibacterial property and deodorization and increasing quality. The dyeing method is useful for underwear, baby clothing, outer garments and curtains. CONSTITUTION: The dyeing method is as follows: putting the textile into 3-20% of an extract solution of the Coptis; dyeing the textile at 30-80deg.C for 30-90min.; putting the dyed textile into a dyeing bath dissolved a mordant to post-mordant; putting the mordanted textile into a dyeing bath dissolved with 1-10wt.% of an ultraviolet absorbent; and then post-treating the textile at 30-100deg.C for 15-60min.
