PURPOSE: A composition containing Coptis japonica(Thunb.) extract is provided to reduce damage of gingival bone and to treat periodontitis. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a composition for treating periodontitis comprises: a step of extracting 100g of Coptis japonica(Thunb.) extract with 800 ml of purified water at 80-100°C for three hours; a step of filtering the extract at 200 meshes; a step of compressing under 60°C for concentration; and a step of mixing the extract, vitamin C, and vitamin E. The composition is an oral or injection formulation. The oral formulation is a granule, tablet, capsule, and liquid.

PURPOSE: A composition containing seed of Raphanus sativus L. extract or powder is provided to treat or prevent inflammatory bowel diseases including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating or preventing inflammatory bowel disease contains seed of Raphanus sativus L. powder or extract. The seed of Raphanus sativus L. extract is isolated using water, methanol, ethanol, butanol, chloroform, hexane, ethylacetate, dichloromethane, or mixture solvent thereof or by supercritical extraction. The composition is manufactured in the form of medicinal product or functional food. The medicinal product or functional food additionally contains pharmaceutically acceptable excipient or additive.

PURPOSE: A method for producing silk-thread peptide is provided, thereby rapidly and cheaply producing the silk-thread peptide, which has a molecular weight of 500-10000 and 100% solubility at pH 4 to 9, in higher yield. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing silk-thread peptide comprises the steps of: inserting 1 part by weight of silk-thread protein into a solution containing 3 to 7 parts by weight of potassium chloride, 1.5 to 3.5 parts by volume(v/w) of ethanol, and 3 to 7 parts by volume(v/w) of water, and heating the solution at 85 to 95 deg. C for 1 to 3 hours to dissolve the silk-thread protein; dialyzing the silk-thread dissolved solution at 20 to 65 deg. C for 25 to 60 hours to remove salts; and adding 0.1 to 3.0%(w/v) of bromelain into 0.1 to 10.0%(w/v) of the silk-thread protein solution and reacting them at 25 to 30 deg. C for 1 to 5 hours.
